It's not dead, you know. Such an idea is never dead, as long as it's the right thing to do.

http://madashelldoctors.com/

They're on the way to California now. Get out and talk to them if you can.

A Web spider like Google's following the links?

Just saying.

38. But for some reason, some users have unrec's hitting them seconds after they post.
And other users don't. Some of us no longer OP for that very reason.

A strange type of spider, to my way of thinking.

People do not realize it - but one thing a lot of unrec's do is that they can actually sink a topic from viewing.

But hey, if it is gonna be all DLC philosophy all the time, I guess that is a good thing.

Each day, 273 people die due to lack of health care in the U.S.; that's 100,000 deaths per year.

We need single-payer health care, not a welfare bailout for the serial-killer insurance agencies.

We don't need the GingrichCare of mandated, unregulated, for-profit insurance that is still too expensive, only pays parts of medical bills, denies claims, and bankrupts people. Republinazi '93 plan:
"Subtitle F: Universal Coverage - Requires each citizen or lawful permanent resident to be covered under a qualified health plan or equivalent health care program by January 1, 2005."

"We will never have real reform until people's health stops being treated as a financial opportunity for corporations."

9. I had this thought . . . and I know it's crazy . . .
do you suppose when 2014 comes around and insurance premiums have quadrupled (again), the POTUS (assuming it's Obama) might chuck the "serving us up to the wolves on a platter plan" and support single payer? It's already apparent that come hell or high water big insurance wants their gigantic profits guaranteed. And they aren't going to let any half dead citizens get in the way. It should be apparent by then that single-payer would not only make more sense from a moral standpoint, but from a fiscal standpoint as well.

Single payer is the only way to get both costs and outcomes to a reasonable level. To achieve single payer we first have to remove the influence of corporate money from elections. Secondly we have to take measures to return the media to a higher level of fairness.

So, I suggest we work on election reform and the media.

13. Working on it requires the gumption to say if you don't support real reform then no votes
Nobody but nobody is serious about public financing and cleaning up the machines and until we make them then we'll hear whistlin Dixie at best and generally silence as we gnash our teeth.

34. Frankly, the only chance we have of single payer
is in 2013, when we get a Democratic Congress back in there to do it right. By then, the Repugs will have gotten this year's HCR repealed, by attaching it to a defense spending bill that President Obama won't veto.

Makes a nice clean slate for us to work on then.

can we PLEASE start calling this what is? It was not Health Care Reform, it was Health Insurance Reform. And this is Single Payer Health Insurance. Letting the other side define terms in the debate is the first step towards losing.

I'd add him to my list

But make sure you don't get the version of him that was substituted for this version via alien abduction.

That guy says he never advocated for Single Payer Universal HC. While debating a gang of people running for the WH.

Whew! That was a close one! We almost had a humane health care system. That would've been horrible.

I have this feeling that whoever's elected president ... no matter what you promise on the campaign trail – blah, blah, blah – when you win, you go into this smoke-filled room with the twelve industrialist capitalist scum-fucks who got you in there. And you're in this smoky room, and this little film screen comes down … and a big guy with a cigar goes, "Roll the film." And it's a shot of the Kennedy assassination from an angle you've never seen before … that looks suspiciously like it's from the grassy knoll. And then the screen goes up and the lights come up, and they go to the new president, "Any questions?" "Er, just what my agenda is." -- Bill Hicks

45. Until we get single payer, start taking better care of yourselves.
stop eating processed foods.
stop eating cold luncheon meats.
stop drinking anything with aspartame in it.
eat a little editable bentonite clay and dump the toxic waste
in your body (drink a LOT of water to avoid constipation)
start meditating
drink a little red wine
take vitamin c (2000mg) e (400mg) calcium mag (1500 mg) and b
complex daily
order the Twelve Tissue Remedies of Dr. Schussler online and
take the cell salts your body needs to relink the molecular
chains that make dead cells wash out and new cell rebirth for
all parts of the body.
fall in love and mean it
take long walks, go to the beach, do something creative
do unto others as you would have them do to you
don't take meds or wean soon
