Jindal: No Senate endorsement

MARKSVILLE — Gov. Bobby Jindal on Wednesday again refused to comment on whether he would publicly back the reelection bid of fellow Republican, U.S. Sen. David Vitter.

The governor’s refusal to make an endorsement in the U.S. Senate race last week caused a stir among many of the nation’s political commentators and on many political Internet blogs. One of Jindal’s chief aides caused a second stir when she earlier this week said the governor hasn’t endorsed “yet” – implying, for many commentators, that he might change his mind soon.

“What continues to be true is we have not yet endorsed in any of the federal races in Louisiana,” Jindal said after speaking at a community luncheon in Avoyelles Parish.
