9 years out, and Osama still not formally charged.
http://www.fbi.gov/wanted/topten/fugitives/laden.htm

from 2006 (the last time anyone cared to notice)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/08/27/AR2006082700687.html

Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden is a longtime and prominent member of the FBI's "Ten Most Wanted" list, which notes his role as the suspected mastermind of the deadly U.S. embassy bombings in East Africa on Aug. 7, 1998.

But another more infamous date -- Sept. 11, 2001 -- is nowhere to be found on the same FBI notice.

The curious omission underscores the Justice Department's decision, so far, to not seek formal criminal charges against bin Laden for approving al-Qaeda's most notorious and successful terrorist attack. The notice says bin Laden is "a suspect in other terrorist attacks throughout the world" but does not provide details.

(end snip)

I would think that after 9 years, we could see a formal charge. Maybe the FBI is waiting for the ten year anniversary?

24. Do you really think that if they wanted to charge Osama,
that they would wait until they gathered actual credible evidence? They could manufacture it on the spot if that fit their needs.

There is plenty of evidence that ties him to the attack. They have not charged him for lack of evidence, but for other, most likely political reasons.

where they are now blaming Obama for not catching him already. No mention of Bush.

8. and he won't ever be charged!
He's dead! But if he had anything at all to do with 9/11, it was at the behest of some powerful American traitors. IMHO of course!

17. Notice the date? 10/29/04. Right before the election. The BFEE was making "Osama tapes"
faster than they could keep the actors hired (remember "fat" Osama).

18. Now all you have to prove is that it was in fact a fake.
looking forward to your evidence.

By the way, research all different VCR formats throughout the world and the "fat Osama" will make sense.

and stated that he had nothing to do with it, but was glad it happened. Anyone else remember him stating that after 9/11?

Bin Laden says he wasn't behind attacks

September 17, 2001 Posted: 11:21 AM EDT (1521 GMT)

DOHA, Qatar (CNN) -- Islamic militant leader Osama bin Laden, the man the United States considers the prime suspect in last week's terrorist attacks on New York and Washington, denied any role Sunday in the actions believed to have killed thousands.

In a statement issued to the Arabic satellite channel Al Jazeera, based in Qatar, bin Laden said, "The U.S. government has consistently blamed me for being behind every occasion its enemies attack it.

"I would like to assure the world that I did not plan the recent attacks, which seems to have been planned by people for personal reasons," bin Laden's statement said.

"I have been living in the Islamic emirate of Afghanistan and following its leaders' rules. The current leader does not allow me to exercise such operations," bin Laden said.

Asked Sunday if he believed bin Laden's denial, President Bush said, "No question he is the prime suspect. No question about that."

Immediately after the attacks that demolished the World Trade Center's landmark twin towers and seriously damaged the Pentagon, officials of Afghanistan's ruling Taliban said they doubted bin Laden could have been involved in carrying out the actions.

19. Apparently they admit they don't have enough evidence against him
for a formal charge.

But for war, they don't need that.

23. yep, the neo cons got their "Pearl Harbor"
just what they needed to "catapult" their agenda. Well, someone must have been for that agenda because all anyone had to do at the time is google "PNAC" and find exactly what was on the agenda for the ME. Now, to me, someone who actually cared about the people in the ME, wouldn't have wanted to give these neo cons an excuse. Oh wait, 11 out of the 15 hijackers were from SA, and it appears SA is doing just fine. Got rid of that pesky US base, US attacked Iraq (got rid of that pesky Saddam), and increased recruitment for AQ to spread that SA brand of Wahabism. And look, even got a so-called american attorney, Baker, to represent them against some of the 9/11 families.

It looks like one country in the ME is doing just fine.
