Anyone watching The History Channel now? |
|
"102 Minutes That Changed America"
Amateur videos of 9/11 in NYC.
Chilling, even after all these years.

no matter how hard it is to watch those images, its good to see the HISTORY Channel playing something about a pivital part of history, rather then about "2012" or nostradamus or all that other end of the world crap.

7. I'm actually pretty disgusted at "history" channel today |
|
It seems like everything they do lately has to do with shock value and fear. I'd like to actually sit down and watch a historical show for once. It seems like they're making the footage of this terrible tragedy and making it just a way to get ratings today. I wish they could have done something tasteful, maybe in the evening, to respectfully memorialize those lost, but instead they just choose to show footage of the carnage without any real attempt to let you in on the lives of those who were there...

9. I was refering to the entire days worth of programming |
|
If this one is different then I apologize for the misunderstanding, however the shows earlier were as I mentioned. I got so depressed I gave up watching. It's not a good day for TV.

12. I saw it last year and just couldn't watch it again this year. |
|
I think what got to me most was the two young women in the apartment building filming when the second tower hit. Their fear is so real. But I decided it is fine to feel that pain and fear and then move on.

14. Me neither. I've ignored dozens of fire alarms in hotels.... |
|
If you spend a lot of time in hotels you know that 99% of all hotel fire alarms are false alarms. They go off all the time. Only once was I actually evacuated. Trying to imagine what it would have been like if I'd been working at that Marriott instead of a Hilton in Hawaii that day. *shudder*

always fire engines there. I think I had been in there a couple of times for drinks, but it was way overpriced. There were some pubs a few blocks away that were much more affordable!
Edited to add: I did stay there once in the mid 80's when I was working on an IT project in the World Financial Center as it was being built, the American Express Tower.
