Hunger strike called on account of hunger (updated)
Source: Albany TimesUnion

“I’m sore,” said Tom Cavanaugh. “I’m very tired. I really need a steak.”

Speaking by cell phone from outside the studios of WABC in midtown Manhattan, the East Berne conservative activist announced he would be ending his fast at midnight tonight. Cavanaugh began his protest Thursday morning to convince Fox News personality and radio host Sean Hannity to interview GOP gubernatorial hopeful Carl Paladino, who has not appeared on Hannity’s radio show despite multiple visits by Rick Lazio.

If Cavanaugh survives until midnight on his current diet of water, orange juice and vitamins, he will have lasted about 40 hours.

Wait a minute — didn’t Cavanaugh say just yesterday that he was committed to holding out until Hannity caved or until Monday evening, when he would return to the Capital Region to cast his primary vote and probably eat a hoagie or something?

5. Medical personnel said that Cavanaugh lost an estimated pound and a half
Doctors reported that they were unconcerned about the dumbass's health. "That fat choad could stand to fast for about 40 days. 40 hours is a bad joke," said Dr. gratuitous, reporting from his home 3,000 miles away. "Wish I'd have known about this in advance so I could have shorted some Frito-Lay stock. Consumption of Chee-tohs has to be down measurably."

8. Hunger strikes are about the
stupidest form of protest. "I'm not going to eat until I get what I want" doesn't seem much of a threat. Sort of like Blazing Saddles "don't move or the n****r get's it".

13. Actually, in many cultures, it is an extremely effective tool.
Some people simply can't stand it when their fellow man is hungry. Here in the US, not so much.
