Thanks for hanging in there for those some 2000 people. I'm glad Senator Schumer stepped in, what a Senator! One to be proud of if anyone asks me. :applause:

NY TRACON. Bad, bad shit .. that. They need a real union, again.
On edit: TRACON
TRACON is an acronym for Terminal Radar Approach Control. It is usually located within the vicinity of an airport or group of airports. Typically, the TRACON controls aircraft approaching and departing between 5 and 50 miles of the airport. Radar equipment allows an air traffic controller to "see" the aircraft even at that distance. NY TRACON controls arrival/departure traffic for JFK, LGA, ISP, EWR, TEB and others, in one of the densest ATC environments in the world.

4. Yo, Mac! I missed your post last night...good to see you somewhat up & about. |

I was in Tampa the day (night?) this happened and I can't get a straight story. Can't a controller unplug if he's sick? One of my oldest buds works in Ft Worth center and he has told me many times (not recently, however) he never had a problem being excused for either physical or mental (temporary) issues. I can't help think there's more to the story than we're hearing (or at least what *I* am hearing)... K
