Poll question: OK so what if the skateboarder WHILE grabbing the Qu'ran |
|
pushed Grisham's cigarette lighter, catching Grisham's clothes on fire and burning him to a crisp?

Grisham surrendered his lighter to a fellow citizen and had already decided not to set the book aflame before the young man snatched it. The reason Grisham gave up his wee hate quest is because protesters placed their hands on the grill on which he intended to burn the Qu'ran. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x9124061

9. Non-negligent manslaughter, provided it was an accident, and not excessive force |
|
Edited on Mon Sep-13-10 01:45 AM by El Prezidente Kaboom
that led to the lighter exploding and causing the hypothetical death of Grisham. Furthermore, what the skateboarder did while Grisham was on fire....did he try to help...did he act coldly..was he shocked by what happened... those are things a court is likely to explore in determining the severity of his negligence, in addition to his demeanor and actions just before the said accident.

14. So, the death of a person |
|
no matter how much we disagree with him, is better than the destruction of an inanimate object?
This whole controversy has indeed brought out the worst in people.

I did say that it was as stupid to kill for oil as it was to kill over destruction of a book, 'holy' or otherwise.
But I'll repeat it here. Thanks for giving me the opportunity.

But, I think we learn more from each other when we do differ than when we agree. That's what I like about this place.
