Pig Boy Limbaugh says he alone has the power select the 2008 republican nominee
So a fat, draft dodging, drug addicted, three times divorced, talk radio host is the most powerful man in the family values and christ loving republican party?

Rush Limbaugh

Rush Limbaugh, the most-listened-to radio host in the U.S. and America's No. 1 voice for conservatism, says he alone has the power to select the 2008 Republican nominee for president at this point, but he's avoiding promoting one candidate over another so as not to sound like a "cheerleader."

Limbaugh's remarks came today during his analysis of last night's GOP presidential debate in South Carolina, as a caller urged Rush to throw his support behind Rep. Ron Paul of Texas, as the caller claimed Paul was the most conservative of the field of candidates.

"I don't think Congressman Paul has a snowball's chance," Limbaugh said.

"You have the power yourself to make him the Republican nominee," the caller responded.

"That is very true, and that is why I must exercise this power responsibly, not as a cheerleader," said Limbaugh, "which is why I'm not picking a name right now. I alone have the power to move the base."

5. I heard that and immediately had a vision
of McCain, Romney, Huck, Rudes and all the rest crawling on their knees to give their Lord a BJ to earn his blessing. All secretly carrying magnifying glasses to find their objective.
Look for most of them this is not a step down but a continuation of current strategy.

13. There is a tidal wave about to hit conservatives
and they're totally oblivious. Rush included. The pendulum has swung. The GOP has squandered their power. The Bush administration is an unmitigated disaster. The GOP has fronted candidates who are an embarrassment.
It's over, GOP.
Whatever Rush has to say is meaningless.

15. That's what I keep thinking as well, I'm just not sure I believe it yet.
There are still a lot of stupid Kool-Aid drinkers loose out there. They report to no one, go unsupervised for long periods of time, and are even trusted with children.

I really hope this is true, that the GOP is in its last throes, to quote one of their "leaders." :eyes:

25. The immigration issue is the last nail in the coffin
I'm in Georgia, and Republicans Isaacson and Chambliss are endorsing the new immigration bill. This is downright treason to the good ole boys down here.
They're just starting to wakeup and realize that they've been played.
The elected Republicans bow down to Big Business. Bubba doesn't matter...except when it's election time. And then, the Repub. candidates thrown them a little God talk. A little "lower taxes" talk. A little "anti-gay" and anti-abortion talk. And Bubba falls in line.
Guess what? Bubba is mad as hell about illegal immigrants and the pandering to big business over the issue. Maybe it's finally dawning through the thick skulls down here that the Republicans in power really could care less about Bubba. It's all about Halliburton. Always has been. Always will be.

16. Democracy, GOP style. Shut-up and follow. Can you imagine how
Edited on Thu May-17-07 09:16 PM by Marr
Thom Hartmann's audience would respond to such a statement? It wouldn't be anything like the dittoheads' sheep-like response.

People to the left of center often complain about the "herding cats" phenomenon found in progressive politics, but I much prefer that to the alternative.
