On 9/10:

Rep. Lynn Westmoreland (R-Ga.) addressed the Faith & Freedom Conference (my note: :puke:) with a hook you’re hearing more and more often. He reminded the crowd that after Republicans won Congress in 1994, they forced a fight over the budget with President Clinton.

“The government shut down,” said Westmoreland — and the crowd started cheering. “That’s what I wanted to hear! A good clap for that!”

On 9/13:

"Our country is on the road to a fiscal disaster of historic proportions. It is incumbent on Republicans in Congress to put us back on the path of fiscal responsibility. In making that point during a speech last week, I reminded those in the audience that we will face tough decisions on cutting the size of government. I did not call for nor am I advocating shutting down the federal government. We have commitments to veterans and seniors that we must keep and we do that by setting priorities and de-funding expensive new entitlement programs like Obamacare."

Remember, this is the one who demanded every place ahve the 10 commandments posted, yet he could only name one.

1. Again, they're clueless.
That shutdown was a disaster for the (R)s and, afterward, they were terrified of opposing anything Clinton wanted. Lucky for them he's (D)-corporate, or he might have pushed through some really progressive legislation, not the crap that further enabled our current mess.

2. What a fool. Health care is also a priority for seniors and veterans. nt
