Now the repukes are saying they will threaten a filibuster if the rich don't get their tax breaks |
|
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_tax_cutsIt would give me hope if the Democrats actually stood together on this, and used it to expose the repukes for what they are, but I have no doubt the Democrats will cave in

3. politico, (i.e. RightWing Pravda) says BLOODOGCAVE |

so of course it will happen. They are also of the VERY INFORMED OPINION that supporting extending tax cuts for everyone except the top bracket is a losing position. As there is near total lockstep RNC talking point discipline in the rest of the official old media, they probably have a point.
Or at least that is the total assturdism I heard on 'fair and balanced' nationalist pubic radio on the drive home.

7. Our politicians have become one trick ponies |
|
They serve the interests of the wealthy and corporate elites PERIOD. The GOP threatens filibuster and Obama and the Democrats promptly cave-in and accuse progressives of smoking crack for objecting. I have seen this movie a dozen times over the last few years. It always ends with John Q. Public being given legislation that is named something positive but it is in fact simply another gut punch that serves these powerful, all consuming interests.

9. My Senator will probably support a Republican filibuster on this legislation. |
|
Considering that his wife is on several boards related to health care he would be one of those Senators with income that would be taxable at the old rate. He would probably also mislead everyone into believing that all of his income would be taxed at the higher old rate.
My Senator is stupid enough to believe that he would win the nomination for President.
My Senator is stupid enough to believe that Obama would pick him to be his running mate in 2008.
Did you guess who is my Senator?

This is a man that would sacrifice a baby to get the brass ring of being Prez. There is nothing in his life more important and he would sell his soul to any interest that could deliver his prize.

13. And If That Doesn't Work, Boner Will Stomp His Widdle Foot And Hold His Breath........ |
|
............until he turns whatever color results when you start out orange and then turn blue.
According to my math, if the Republicans stand in the way of Obama's tax proposal (which would renew the tax cuts for everyone BELOW the top 2%, but would allow the tax cuts for the top 2% to expire), and NOTHING ends up being done, doesn't that mean that ALL the tax cuts for EVERYONE will expire? Hey, Boner, good luck explaining to your constituents why you allowed their taxes to go up.
This tactic is the very definition of lose-lose for the Republicans. To borrow a phrase, I say, "Bring 'em on." Filibuster yourselves right out of your jobs, A-Holes.

throwing money after bad...
The GOP is SO CONFUSED these daze..
The melt down is ongoing...unable a coherent
and viable game plan...
weak and often embarrassing candidates plague their chances of regaing the edge as they once had.
Irony alert: what would happen if the GOP retakes the HOUSE but Moaner Boner loses his seat...another pub gets the Speakership...Boner gets to clean his office
