Poll question: How's that talking point on the ''professional left'' holding up? |
|
Somebody posted that in a reply to one of my other threads, and I can't believe people are still peddling that crap.
The GOP works synergistically with right wing media, but the White House and whoever is spreading these talking points seems to think it's smart to shit on the emerging progressive media rather than work with it.
How are you going to get your message out if you don't have the media and you don't even have the enthusiasm of your base?
Do you buy this meme that the ''professional left'' is expressing sentiments vastly different from what the Democratic base is thinking and feeling on their own.
I would also be curious to hear who counts as this ''professional left.'' Is it anyone to the left of Fox News and gets paid to write or appear on TV? Anyone who speaks on behalf of an advocacy group? Who on the left can speak with a national megaphone and have the respect of the White House and Democratic leadership?
The bottom line is, does the ''professional left'' more or less reflect what Democratic voters feel or are they way out of line?

4. Still as true as the day Gibbs first used the term.... |
|
FDL, Glen Greenwald... etc... their aim is to kneecap the President in the name of ideological "purity" tests.

That's the context that makes it acceptable to call someone "the little prick"? That they work for you?

9. How can Greenwald "kneecap" the President? Sounds pretty violent! |
|
That's funny, as is labeling anyone with a consistent set of progressive values "ideologues". Funny and sad at the same time.

11. You really think he wouldn't have said it if Rahm hadn't told him to? |

it was a trial balloon floated by the administration because they don't have a clue what democrats outside their DLC circle really think.

I believe they do have a clue what Democrats outside their circle really think. They simply don't care, or are outright contemptuous.

26. There is no such thing as 'uber liberals' - |
|
that is a RW meme meant to subtly associate liberalism with German fascism, on the same line as equating National Socialism with Socialism.
So OF COURSE the majority of Americans don't identify themselves as such - NOBODY does, only their enemies use that label.
