I noticed something this morning at the gym
At the gym I work out at several days a week the main room where all the equipment is located there are three large TVs hanging on the wall. The one on the left hand side of the room has CNN, the middle one has ESPN, and the right hand one has FOX "News" Channel going.

And I noticed something this morning. When the President was delivering his address to students this morning, CNN was carrying it live. And what was on Faux News while the President was speaking? Some teabagger and I believe Charles Krauthammer.

1. Fox is afraid to have their viewers actually see him speak. Much
better for them to git taught what the people calling the shots at Fox want them to believe. The Fox talking heads will tell them what to think about any of the Presidents speaches.
Can you imagine the whining from Republicans if the other networks or cable channels had handled the Bush speaches the way Fox does with Obama? They don't show them or they cut away to one of their commentators to criticize what he's saying.
That's probably the way most of their viewers want it. They'd just turn it off if it went on very long.

2. Denying coverage of Obamas speech can mean one of two possibilities
Denying because you think the audience is to stupid to understand.
Denying because you think the audience is to smart and will understand.

4. it's easier to paraphrase so to speak if the viewers don't see the speech
for themselves. if they see it they might think what he says is reasonable and fox can't spin it as easily.
