The Republicans aren't going to take over the Senate
Edited on Tue Sep-14-10 07:50 PM by anthroguy101
The Tea Party strategy might work in Utah, Alaska, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania (the last two of which are still close races); but it sure as hell isn't going to sway states like Delaware and New Hampshire. The GOP just lost its chance of gaining 2 seats by electing extremist candidates. Let's face it: there are some places where the "veer far to the right" strategy is not going to work, even in America. It's going to be MUCH easier for the Democrats to get these seats as well as take over the Senate. My source?

Also I think it's safe to assume that O'Donnell and Lamontagne are the winners tonight.

1. I agree with you completely.
It's off the table. BUT, I would rather have the house than the senate, unless of course we can eliminate the filibuster or reform it somehow. We need to turn a bad thing into a good thing and really clobber the enemy in ways they don't expect.

2. O'Donnell is DOA, but you can't immediately count out Lamontagne
Lamontagne is an inferior candidate compared to Ayotte, but not close to the same vanity league as O'Donnell.

3. We hardly have the Senate now.
The place is so lousy with perros azules that you can't get any progressive legislation through even if you blackmail or threaten a couple of RINOs into voting with you.
