Dick Armey.. AKA Dr. Frankenstein... created the Tea Party |
|
It was his attempt to "re-brand" the GOP.
But just like Dr. Frankenstein in the story, he lost control of the beast.
..and now the beast is turning on its creator.
The GOP has a tiger by the tail here. And they can't tame it.
In the past few months, they've inadvertantly resurrected Harry Reid (he would've lost by 10-15 points to Sue Lowden), they made the Kentucky senate race competitive (Grayson would've won by 20 points - instead, Paul is up by 7), they gave Dems a fighting chance in Colorado by selecting Buck, they turned Alaska from guaranteed GOP to lean GOP, and now they've delivered Joe Biden's old seat to the Democrats.
They created a monster. And the monster needs to eat. And it's eating its creator.
