Now this is just funny.....Naked man walks down Vermont street..
doesn't break law because there is no law against public nudity there.

This just made me laugh out loud.

Spring brings out naked people in Brattleboro

BRATTLEBORO — Spring has arrived in this southeastern Vermont town known for its live-and-let-live culture. The trees are less bare, and some local residents are more so.

Resident Theresa Toney said she was dining at a downtown restaurant when she spotted this spring’s first naked person. She looked out the window “and saw a man in his 60s walking up and down Main Street totally nude,” she told the Brattleboro Reformer newspaper. “This is indecent exposure where it doesn’t belong.”

Vermont has no state law, and Brattleboro no ordinance, against public nudity.

Last year, Toney became one of the town’s most vocal critics of allowing people to bare it all in public after a groups of young people caused a stir by stripping naked in a downtown parking lot.

And one of the ministers said this, which is technically quite true.

Nudists could pop up anywhere, he said. “I am concerned we don’t know where they are going to strike.”

:dilemma:

1. OMG! I just couldn't quit watching!
People have bodies. Yes, under everyone's clothing is a nude body. Each of us. You. Me. The grocery checker. The paper delivery person. The garbage collectors. The lawyers. The teachers. The kids.

Each of us is nude, under our clothes.

ooooooooooooooooooooooo

2. I love it!
Such openness barely resembles today's United States.

14. I thought it was funny.
In Florida they would bring out their big bad swat teams to get those naked people.

Ain't kidding, either.

4. threat level orange: Naked Terrorists roaming Brattleboro

This is unacceptable, I live in NYC and I am certain now that we need to send a swat team to brattleboro to fight the nudists there so we don't have to fight them here.

5. I am trying to imagine....
What would happen if he did that at Falwell's funeral. 1.) They would be really pissed off. 2.) They would be really turned on.

6. People get nekkid all the time in The People's Republic of Brattleboro. It's a great town.
If you ever get the chance to go there, do so.

7. Is it warm enough there already to stroll around nude? Maybe in the sun?
Sounds like an interesting place to visit.

8. ONLY between May and September. Any other time, and you're looking at the possibility of
some painful and embarrassing frostbite.

Billy Brattle's Boro is worth visiting just for the Cow Parade, or a movie at the hotel, or just to walk around. It's one of my very favorite towns, and fortunately, it only takes me two hours flat to drive there if I don't have the wife and kid with me (2 and a half hours if I do).

12. Oh, yes. Given the weather around here lately, I'd bet there was a real case of
the Dreaded Shrinks going on right there.

(By the way, "the Dreaded Shrinks" is a phrase from the best children's book ever written, "The Twits" by Roald Dahl. Though in the book, "the Dreaded Shrinks" doesn't mean THOSE shrinks, I love the phrase anyway.)

17. Well, because you can't SEE anything; it all kinda wrinkles and sags together.
Takes all the fun out of it.

(Replying pretty much to bos tourism to Brattleboro here; the more people who go visit and spend a few bucks there, the longer it'll stay the great place that it is.)

That's why.

Yes, I'm ageist. I don't want older people exposing their skin in public. It is to barf.

(I'm 63, so I'm allowed to say this. :) )

18. I travel through Brattleboro nearly every day and I haven't seen
any naked people . . . yet. Last summer the place to be was a parking lot in the middle of the business district. A half dozen skinny, white boys dropped trow and caused quite a stir. As I recall they convinced a couple of young ladies to bare their boobies, too. As a previous poster noted, Brattleboro is a great town to visit if you're in the area. Next big event "The Strolling of the Heifers" June 1 - 3. Bernie and Patrick Leahy often make an appearance. http://www.strollingoftheheifers.com/

21. Oh, my, I think this lady just goes around looking for naked people.
Read this from last year....she really has issues with nudity. This is getting hysterical.

"Complaints about young people who spend time in downtown Brattleboro naked have prompted the Select Board to explore an anti-nudity ordinance.

Groups of young people have been congregating in a downtown parking lot and enjoying the warm summer weather without clothing, and that bothers some local residents.

"A parking lot is not a strip club. It's a parking lot," resident Theresa Toney told the Select Board last week. She said she has seen repeated instances of naked people hanging out downtown."

And this part is just so funny, and the guy is laid back. I love it.

"With no law to enforce, Police Chief John Martin was taking a laid-back approach.

"What's the harm?" Martin asked. "It's a problem to the extent that it bothers people, but we've always had it here.

"We get calls and we check out what's going on. Even though there's often no criminal violation, we want to be sure there isn't a confrontation. Or that someone is not emotionally disturbed."

22. There is no law against public nudity here in Denver
Everyone once in awhile, if you spend enough time downtown...you will see someone walking around naked. The most gruesome case was this 300+lbs. woman walking down colfax, not a thread of clothing on her. It was like 98 degrees that day.
