Having programmed many a website in the past
This is why you never, ever mention "the new look". Because that's all people fixate on.

New social networking capabilities? Who cares! We don't like the logo.
A much better local candidate search? Who cares! We don't like the logo.
Leveraging the mybarackobama.com database seamlessly? Who cares! We don't like the logo.
New automatic voter registration form? Who cares! We don't like the logo.
Voting time/place information by precinct? Who cares! We don't like the logo.

What the hell is the matter with people on this board?

:banghead:

1. I come in and all I see is a bitchin new logo that looks like a target...
I havn't yet seen a story that says anything else about what was said.

But I still want to know, where do I wear the target?

5. We are all waiting...
Apparently nothing else has been said.

Yesterday we were told a 'major' announcement that will excite the base and address the future of the party will be unveiled today. So far we had Tim Kaine on the Today Show revealing a new website and logo. He is still scheduled to speak at 12:30PM EST at George Washington Univ, so I know many of us are waiting for what new direction is going to excite the party.

6. "What the hell is the matter with people on this board?"
It's not the board, just a few professional whiners who @#$% all over anything this administration does.

@#$% 'em.

7. I wouldn't care if this were the 2nd coming of Facebook, it doesn't rise to a BIG announcement.
I belive they'd have done better to announce they would be rolling out exciting changes to Democrats' online presence or capabilities. Touting it as a big, exciting change for Democrats means it's now a letdown. I know many join me in saying we had hoped for some policy change or even a new messaging campaign.

9. I guess a single site to find and contribute to Democrats all over the country
based on location, status of the contest, issues, etc. isn't exactly the second coming of Facebook.

But it probably is a very good thing for the party.

11. Uhh...
If that is all it is, that is nowhere close to being a MAJOR announcement about the future of the party that will excite the base.

14. Big Whoop. Move-On's been doing that for years.
I think we all hoped they learn HOW to message and stay on message instead of giving us a crappy logo and the use of a site we could go to Move-On for.

15. I, at least, would have told the client that it's a crappy looking logo.
Obama's logo in 08 was so fantastic!

This is so . . . yawn.
