Inside the mind of a man involved in 580 shootout (Tried to do a spree killing of "progressives")

There is new information about a man charged for a shoot-out with the highway patrol on 580 in Oakland in July. The man says he hoped to start a revolution by killing liberal activists and ABC7 obtained tapes of a jailhouse interview with Byron Williams.

In the early morning hours of Sunday, July 18th, Williams was injured during a shootout with the CHP on Interstate 580 in Oakland.

Officers say they made a traffic stop after watching Williams weave through lanes at excessive speeds. Williams was wearing body armor and had an arsenal of weapons in his car.

The gunfire exchange ripped through the metal and glass of CHP cars.

I don't so much concentrate on looking at the goosesteppers, as much as the ordinary citizens in the background; so many of them applauding what they're seeing ( in general; hard to discern specific reactions from this picture, but I'm sure many were watching with approval). I often think about this when I see pictures from the Nuremberg rallies, etc. The Nazis could not have inflicted their unprecedented destruction and suffering on the world without the support of so many of those ordinary folks like the ones watching here. The danger here is not only the Becks, Limbaughs, Palins and the rest of the organized hate machine, but to me, equally, if not even more so, the ignorant, easily manipulated followers . I am in agreement with some other DUers who have warned that we ignore or laugh at ,or even celebrate the tea-bagger element's takeover of the republican party, and so much of the political discourse, at our extreme peril.

When asked Williams admits there is something to the report he was riled by RW TV - but he won't go in to specifics. He might mail it to reporter if he gets postage.

He thought Obama teamed with Soros & Haliburton to blow up the BP rig to shut down oil production in the U.S.

Good job by the local reporter.
