2. Shhhh...You're Ruining The Corporate Meme...
I heard a figure that more than half the registered rushpublicans stayed home...predominately the moderates. The rubber will not meet the road as we see how the teabaggers fare in a real election, not only held in a vaccuum. In some ways the best thing that could happen is a bagger to win...totally screw up the GOOP caucus and become a poster child as to why voters should never go near another rushpublican.

4. From the numbers it doesn't look like very many
Republican voters bothered to get to the polls.

Democracy is such a terrible burden for them, evidently.

O'Donnell seems like something of a mess. She seems to have a bright affect but has nothing to say. It's like those portable electric yard signs a small business sets out front of the store with the light rotating around the sign and some vacuous pitch hung in self-place letters. If the blue team takes this race seriously, Coons wins.

5. You should read the crazy math these teabaggers promote at the News Journal
Edited on Thu Sep-16-10 08:37 AM by LynneSin
News Journal is our local paper.

Some guy pointed out that twice as many republicans came to the polls this past primaries than democrats therefore clearly O'Donnell would win in November.

On flaw in that, outside of some minor local races there really wasn't any big races going on with the democratic side. Our House and Senate races were uncontested (John Carney for House and Chris Coons for Senate). I wanted to vote but didn't get home from work until 8:15. But since I really didn't have any critical votes I wasn't too upset.

Trust me, we'll get out to the vote in November if I personally have to drive ever single voter in Wilmington to the polls myself!

7. Seriously....

The only reason I bothered to help retire Mike Walsh yesterday was to get over to the polling station and talk to some of the Republicans that were voting.

I voted in the NC sheriff primary and the state treasurer primary. I passed on "auditor of accounts" as I don't even know what that office does.

8. My neighbors wanted me there to vote for Chip Flowers for Treasurer
I honestly had no opinion about the matter but just couldn't get to the polls on time.

I have 3 days off vacation for the election. I'll be working the polls everyday.

13. For perspective
"According to the state of Delaware's Elections Commissioner, the 2010 Republican primary produced a 32% turnout rate. On the surface this might seem low; however, the turnouts for past Republicans primaries were 16% in 2008, 8% in 2006, 12% in 2004, 14% in 2002, and 16% in 2000. Thus, the 2010 primary doubled Republican turnout."
