One thing's for sure, money doesn't buy taste.

1. Auric Goldfinger would be envious...
Were he not sucked out of the blown out window of his own private jet.

6. Gawdiness and taste aside...lol

It would be a great project if someone would compile or see if something already exists showing the cost of something obscenely extravagant such as this and comparing how that same dollar amount could benefit large groups of people here in the States (food, shelter, healthcare). I say the States because our poverty and inequality is largely ignored, unlike that in the rest of the world.

I know there's a list somewhere of how CEO bonuses could have employed x number of people, but it would be great to show how a choice of foregoing one home or one plane or one million-dollar vehicle or something truly not necessary could be put to use to help MANY people.

Many things are subjective and debatable in this argument about "standards of living," greed and selfishness, but some of these expenditures are just criminal, IMHO.

Bad taste in more ways than one.

:puke:

(Thanks for letting me rant in your thread! :hi:)

9. This actually gets worse!
It used to be that a Leer jet was the ultimate symbol of wealth. It had room for a few passengers with seats for each. But a 747-400 with a full bath and bedroom! WTF!
Well, it actually gets worse. I distinctly remember an article I read not all that long ago. I can't remember if it was a Saudi or perhaps a Kuwaiti, but some Arabian noble ordered an Airbus 380 for their private use. AN AIRBUS 380!! One of those huge double-decker that is even bigger than the Boeing 747. What's next? Someone buying an Antonov 225 and pimping it out!!??
