Fuck you!

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=9144676&mesg_id=9144676

Why don't you stay the hell out of my state you worthless piece of human excrement. Did you think just because a pretty girl spewed some right-wing teabagging sentiment that somehow she would be qualified to be a US Senator? Did you ever actually study the voting trends in my state or figure out that not too complicated riddle as to why Mike Castle wins Delaware General elections like clockwork. Did you actually read about this woman's questionable background. Hell she makes your opponent Alvin Greene look sane.

So now you're having buyers regret well FUCK YOU. You know what you did? Do you feel good that you screwed over one of the nicest, hardest working people in politics and probably the only decent republican left in your party? Are you proud of yourself that you took a sure win for the republicans and turned it into a loss? You are a worthless piece of crap and I feel sorry for the good people of South Carolina stuck with your vile heart representing them.

1. Or conversely -- Jim DeMint, thank you, thank you, thank you...
your interference in Delaware helped the election of Chris Coons.

3. I appreciate the gift but understand where I'm coming from
First it's not a gift, we still have to work our asses off to make sure this stays just a dumbass primary mistake. Remmeber up until a few days ago, if Chris Coons lost I would at least be slightly relieved that it was Mike Castle as my senator and not that whackadoo Christine O'Donnell.

Second, I know this sounds strange coming from a diehard democrat but I liked Mike Castle. In fact the guy was very well liked by alot of people in both parties. If that was an open election O'Donnell would have never won because enough independants and moderates would have crossed over to help him out.

I'd rather that piece of crap stay in his own state!

5. I'm with Lynne. If it's a gift, it's one I could have done without.
I wonder how many of the people spouting the 'gift' idea don't live in DE and just look at it as another Senate seat. Coons is a good guy, but barely known outside of NCC. Believe me, I know my share of flakes up here that voted against Castle because they see the Tea Party as their saviour. If Delawareans can't pull this out for Coons, then we're stuck with Dipshit O'Donnell, who will probably be visited frequently by Palin.

We have Urquhart to overcome also. I'm for Carney, but plenty around here don't like him just because he was Lt. Gov under Minner.

I don't know that I have enough free time to volunteer for 2 campaigns. :(

If by any chance it doesn't work, I'm going to actively push for a Palin/O'Donnell repub ticket in 2012. Might as well usher them both out of the political arena in one fell swoop.

6. BTW thanks for your sig-line. I was going to do the same thing

Nothing is 100% and it worries me that I could have O'Donnell or Urquhart representing me in DC. I'd rather have roadkill 3 days old over either of those 2 as my elected official.

7. I totally get that LynneSin.
Castle was a good guy as Republicans go, no doubt about it. And I know Coons will still need a lot of work to cross the finish line ahead of O'Donnell. But I do believe his chances are much better now than if Castle had won and, on balance, i think Coons will be a fine senator, if everything I've read is correct. He seems like a decent enough guy.

I know you've got skin in the game, though, and I totally appreciate that -- I live in Florida, and I always roll my eyes when I hear some out-of-state pundit pontificate about the three-way senate race we've got going down here.

11. Great rant Lynne
Question - what are the chances that Castle voters will vote for Coons?

8. the purge has begun...
their goal is to assemble a PURE party that can be a minority... but with enough power to filibuster and delay legislation.

10. I know there are many who will disagree with me, but ...
I think Jim DeMint is one of the least intelligent men ever to serve in the U.S. Senate. Some may argue that he is a brilliant politician who simply has views starkly different from mine. I don't accept that. Hearing the man speak, I get the impression of someone who just doesn't "get it". I think the guy really believes he is a patriot and is doing the right thing for the country.

No doubt, the guy is very charismatic and outgoing. He's a tall, good-looking guy, and has probably done well in life due to superior social skills. These characteristics lead to success in our society, but when they are paired with inferior intellectual skills, the result is a person with terrible ideas who is often very successful at getting others to go along with them.

Conservavtism appeals to simple-minded people. It provides simple, clear-cut, black and white answers to the controversial problems of the day. Those simple answers happen to be wrong, but they are answers simple-minded people can understand. The real solutions are usually much more nuanced, and require at least a general understanding of several challanging disciplines in order to fully understand. The don't fit on bumper stickers and can't be explained in sound bytes.

It sounds elitist, and we obviously can't get people to vote for us by calling them stupid, but I believe it to be the truth nonetheless.
