trying to make a teabagger think for himself |
|
one of my former boy scouts is running for public office for the first time this november. he is running as a republican and is backed by the local teapartyers. i have read some of the things he has said in the papers and am disappointed that he is jsut throwing out the same old boring answers (governmetn is too big, taxes too high, ect). i was thinking of emailing him and asking him for specifics on how government is too big and wht he would want ot do. if he can give me a good answer, i was going to offer to hold a sign for him on election day.

Is a great idea, but be aware that you'll be marked as a troublemaker by the rest.
I seriously doubt that he will have a point-by-point agenda for dealing with the "problems" he sees. From my perspective these are emotionally driven issues and the teabaggers are loathe to engage their intellect when they've already engaged their emotions.

2. when this kid was a scout, i taught a religious merit badge which he took |
|
the kid is not a catholic but took it anyway. he blew me away with the way he thought things through and out did all the catholics that were there.
i know he can think, however i guess if he was a thinker he would be a democrat lol

3. Then you really should ask him for specifics. |
|
Whatever he says to you will be very telling. If he has no specifics, you'll know he hasn't thought anything through, and has just bought into the mantra of All Government is Bad.
If he does give you specifics, you'll see how he's thinking, what he actually wants to do, and then you'll know if you agree or disagree with his positions.
Everyone who runs for office should have to do this. Often, both those running and those voting do not clearly understand which office or level of government has what responsibilities.

4. Honey, if you had an "A" student you might be better off voting for them. Teabaggers don't want |

it's a lost cause. You can't use reason with the unreasonable.
