The choice this November is between decency and nihilism...
Edited on Thu Sep-16-10 03:16 PM by El Prezidente Kaboom
This November the choice before American voters is not between ideological liberals and conservatives, or even Democrats and Republicans. No sir. Standard political models do not apply.

The choice is between engineering and demolition; between the Fixers and the Destroyers; between common decency and vile nihilism.

It's Your Decision, America. We are at the abyss. The choices before you come election day, could not be more stark. This is not the party of Lincoln we are fighting against. And empirically speaking, they are not libertarians, or conservatives. They are Mad Libertines, brainwashed by the Bad Gonzo Craziness at the Dark-side of the Spectrum; Lizard Beasts with a cold-blooded disregard for facts that run contrary to their world-view. They do not respect debate. They do not respect reason. They only respect false explanations and added info pertaining to what they already believe. And amongst themselves, their stubborn, aggressiveness is outright infectious. It's like a disease of the mind spread by a barrage of lies.

Woe to our ourselves, when we allow a mob to hold this country hostage to its confusion and reckless abandonment over the common good of the rest of its citizens. Woe to our country when we allow any faction's intransigence to bring our democracy to a grinding halt. “A society is not made great by the victories of its faction over one another, but through reconciliation.” (surprisingly nice words from Henry Kissinger) And if we can measure the Tea Party in terms of its real ability to bring about reconciliation, to transcend the American experience, as Kissinger aptly diagnosed as the key element, then a Tea Party-GOP is in no way deserving of anyone's vote, considering their revisionist bigotry towards the lasting benefit and contribution of so many progressive reformers, who have brought about the freedoms that all of us enjoy today - but take for granted, when we forgot about or falsely characterize, who led the way out of the darkness, and at what time in our history.

To my fellow Democrats, liberals, and progressives, let us unite in Dealey Plaza, no matter what come November. Let us show them what a "Rally for the Republic" really looks like. Let's stand tall together, on hallowed ground, and commit the rest of our lives to making the change we seek.
We can do whatever we put our mind to in America. All we've got to do to succeed is work as a TEAM. We are Americans first. Political types second. We respect opinions, even outside the box thinking, and we invite challenges, but based on principles dedicated to thought and reason, not anger and rage.
Unlike many in the Tea Party, our President and our party remembers that "He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who is quick-tempered exalts folly." Proverbs 14:29.

Team Democrat meeting in Dealey Plaza in November. Be there. Get with it.

2. I could pretty much ask you, who responded, the same question.
Some things are what they are.
