1. Why on earth do you subject yourself to that? The remote is your friend.

15. I never ever watch it! It creeps out on other channels because KO or
Rachel or some other person will mention them or show clips from them. I HATE THAT THEY GET BY WITH THIS!

2. If everyone who is sick of Faux screamed all at once ...
... the sound would probably cause major earthquakes, landslides, and volcanic eruptions - and would undoubtedly deafen at least eighty percent of the world's population.

5. Just let it drown out the screechy, caterwauling, nails-on-a-chalkboard voice of Sarah Palin.
That would be worth enduring a few earthquakes, landslides, and volcanoes.

11. I can't disagree with that sentiment.
There would undoubtedly be victims of aforesaid catastrophes who would heave a sigh of relief and say, "All in all, it was worth it."

3. Which is why I never watch it.
My elderly dad has learned that if he has it on when I come to visit him, I'll start yelling about what a lying bunch of bastards they are. He humors me and turn it off. That's the only time I hear even a second of it.

And yes, they are now merely the propaganda arm of the GOPbagger Party and they don't even make a pretense of being unbiased any more.

13. Thing is, many people can't because they don't know.
They think it's news. The information environment is plenty polluted. Their brains may no longer be the boss.

As with much evil, Pruneface got rid of the Fairness Doctrine and the next thing you know we got Citizen Rupert at Fox and Flush Limpnut at ABC going full-blast 24/7.

12. It's down to a single news story sandwiched between two anti-Democratic Party "stories"
It's like "Obama could be a Muslim" followed by "Cat Rescued by Firefighter" followed by "Nancy Pelosi practices witchcraft and eats children" followed by a tease that John Bolton will be up next to discuss how Iran is going to destroy America tomorrow if we don't listen to him.

14. That is exactly the point. It is one huge AD.
Edited on Thu Sep-16-10 11:14 PM by glinda
And just like an AD, it can lie, mislead, repackage itself to sell something.
This is way too obvious and they should be fined or banned or something.

16. I DON'T watch Fox,
in fact, our family doesn't have TV -- another story.

I just want to comment that over the past several months, I have observed with alarm our national dialogue tank from ISSUES and SUBSTANCE - like the details of dealing with spiraling health care costs, to SYMBOLISM, DOG WHISTLES, and HATE and BAIT, like Park 51 and whether our President is a closet Muslim. Some of this pettiness - the Birthers, for example, has been with us since the start of his Presidency, but it's taken a decidedly downward turn. I suppose this is due to the upcoming elections? What shame, to waste such precious time.

17. That's their JOB.
It isn't a fucking news channel. Putting the word "news" on the screen is false advertising, but then again everything ELSE on FOX is a lie so how is that different?
