Old people, homeless people, transients and students ... |

Yes, they are stealing from the local Co-op I was notified via mail yesterday. I had just gotten home from grocery shopping at this store and got this big newsletter from them advising me that if anyone is caught stealing from their store during these "hard times" they will be treated as thieves and that includes those that might make a mistake on the numbers they write on the items that are bought in bulk.
Frankly, I was rather offended by this information they sent to me. I for one have made many errors writing numbers on the tags that you wrap around the plastic bags and this is an error that is not purposeful as I am visually impaired (and I won't go into whys of it).
Recently there was a group of young men outside of the store with some pit bulls. A few of them were puppies and they were being grabbed by their necks and swung around in the air until they were yelping and crying.
I told the punk off that had the puppy and complained to the store personnel and the reply re: the puppy was that "that is a vicious breed". I promptly corrected this fool and said that the guy that had the dog and was swinging it around by the neck was the problem and hence the reason the puppy might grow up to be a mean dog.
How dare they send out a newsletter complaining about alleged stealing form their store when they allow this kind of crap to go on outside of the place!

P.S. This is not meant to be a pit bull thread. I'm pissed yes. I had my car "keyed" a couple of weeks ago in the disabled parking zone at this place. I should have brought to their attention eh? I'm tempted, believe me, as I was advised it would cost approx. $3,000.00 to have my car repainted. But no, we must instead focus on "retired" people, homeless folks and others that might have been forced to steal something. How screwed up is this anyway? Where are we going anyway? Where?

My god, it was all I could do to not want to bring one of them home with me. To see that freak treating those puppies and dogs like that made me sick! Someone else told me that I should have contacted the police and to hell with the store and their "personnel" who could give a crap about anything except how to make more money selling their pricey goods.
All I can say is THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT US ... those poor puppies and dogs that is! :(
I do care and I made sure to send off yet another contribution to the local no kill rescue that I was advised has been being ripped off by a person w/family that they took in and gave a job to. That made me sick as well -- just hearing about it.
What the hell is wrong with mankind?
I just don't get it.
Greed rules it seems to me.

2. Strange behavior for people working in a co-op. I always thought of co-op |

workers as liberal. What you have described does not sound like a very liberal. Is this a co-opted co-op? I'm glad I wasn't in the lot of dog/puppy abusers. I may have gone to jail.

It was surreal really. I'll admit it, I lost it, YES. That creep that was swinging the puppy around by its neck and laughing when he made it "squeal" got a good ass whipping verbally from me. He slunk away after I was done with him, I'll admit it.
Be who I am and the nature of myself, I can be quite unpleasant at times admittedly. I hope I stay like this for the rest of my life no matter how old and decrepit I may get.
If one allows such behavior to go on unchecked and say nothing, one is just as guilty as the one committing such abusive acts. They are just as guilty as the person that will be jailed for stealing an orange in the store yet nothing happens to that person.
Said store has gotten very big and grown immensely. They make a hell of a lot of money and have a brand new flashy branch in another town nearby. Liberal you say? At one time they were but now they are busy looking for some needy person taking an apple and they actually hire people to pretend they are shoppers while they look for people stealing or writing an incorrect number on some bulk item.
As for the poor puppies and dogs, well they are not important to the store unless in involves selling a can of dog food to someone at double the going price. They have become nothing more than greedy bastards IMO.
But hey, lets get that old man over there that has had nothing to eat all week and tucked an apple into his pocket ...
