Jon Stewart Announces DC 'Rally to Restore Sanity'

"I'm mad as hell, and I'm not going to take it anymore!"

Who among us has not wanted to open their window and shout that at the top of their lungs?

Seriously, who?

Because we're looking for those people. We're looking for the people who think shouting is annoying, counterproductive, and terrible for your throat; who feel that the loudest voices shouldn't be the only ones that get heard; and who believe that the only time it's appropriate to draw a Hitler mustache on someone is when that person is actually Hitler. Or Charlie Chaplin in certain roles.

Are you one of those people? Excellent. Then we'd like you to join us in Washington, DC on October 30 -- a date of no significance whatsoever -- at the Daily Show's "Rally to Restore Sanity." Ours is a rally for the people who've been too busy to go to rallies, who actually have lives and families and jobs (or are looking for jobs) -- not so much the Silent Majority as the Busy Majority. If we had to sum up the political view of our participants in a single sentence... we couldn't. That's sort of the point.

I'm lovin' it - Stewart and Colbert!!!!!

1. That means big eds rally is gonna blow chunks. I can't afford both
I'm sure others cant either. I wish they'd combine.
My sign will simply say "This sign is spelled correctly!"

2. I know....I wish they would have combined, too

:(

But  on your sign! A ton of people should do variations on the same.

We can spell correctly!

I own a dictionary and I'm not afraid to use it!

LOL

3. It's not Ed's rally. Ed will only be speaking at 10.2
Edited on Fri Sep-17-10 07:25 AM by HughBeaumont
10.2 was already organized by different groups before Ed Schultz signed on.

Both rallies are still going to be huge. People have already planned on going to 10.2 even before 10.30 was announced. Even though I really want to go, I can't make the 10.30 rally . . . that's our Halloween and I have to display stuff.

I've always been a huge fan of Halloween, and I love those whom celebrate with gusto. You certainly embrace the spirit.

5. Don't forget the March to Keep Fear Alive!

Both in Washington! Both on the Mall! Both on the same day!

What will happen when the two groups meet?

I predict there will be lots of no bloodshed. (Unless you count that one stoned guy over there who stapled his finger to a sign.)

12. At this time
I can't tell if Stewart and/or Colbert are serious. I support Stewart's position, however, the non-vocal people like myself, do not have the financial ability to travel to DC for this event. The mad, vocal people have organizations that pay their way.
