Right wing mis-info chain emails are running amok!!!!!
Is it just me or are the right-wing misinformation info emails being sent around exploding in popularity?

Usually I don't get them - because folks know my political views, but lately they have been forwarding some to me, and I've seen them reposted on Facebook, and it seems that they are accelerating. Some will tell me about Obama's new horrific proposal when I see them. Here is the latest example I saw on Facebook:

President Obama's finance team is recommending a transaction tax. This is a 1% tax on all transactions at any financial institution. Any deposit you make, or move around within your account, i. e. transfer to, will have a 1% tax charged. Your your pay check or your social Security or whatever is direct deposit, 1% tax ...charged. a hand carried check to deposit, 1% tax charged, or cash in to deposit, 1% tax charged.

... and here is the Factcheck article on it: http://www.factcheck.org/2010/09/1-transaction-tax/

Does anyone notice any increase lately in this garbage? Or has it been going on since day one?

1. I have sent such blistering replies to those that send them to me
I don't even get emails of any kind from them. I told them they were the worst bunch of liars this country has seen. That it is a shame that all they can do is send lies about a president who is trying to fix Bush's mess. Instead of trying to do something positive they make up silly emails. And not to send that poopoganda to me EVER AGAIN.

2. It's only going to get worse as the election draws near. Those guys.....
in the basement of some right wing group, of which I am sure they are paid handsomely, are working overtime making this shit up and sending it out.

3. My fundie cousin sends about one a week.
I haven't received this one yet but I'm sure it's on the way. I keep sending her links proving that the emails are filled with lies. She'll write back and say, "Oh, I'm glad that wasn't true" or something like that, then a week later, here comes another one. She never fact-checks anything, just forwards it to everyone. The last email she sent me was some cornball thing about how a flock of geese flew over the "Restoring Honor" rally. I told her if the conservatives really want to "restore honor", they should stop spreading lies. That one might have gotten me removed from her list, lol.

4. I have been getting some too...
Funny and true story: During the primary season when Obama was running, I began getting emails from my bro-in-law (a gay man from Texas) and my uncle, a retired clergyman - these were all about how Obama was this? and that? and how this country was going to h---, etc. When they started, I wrote to both and asked that they quit sending me that trash as any of those lies could be disproved and I would never vote for a Republican anyway. Well, long story short, they both started bombarding me with that trash. I finally gave in and started sending them the link to each dispelling what they considered 'truth'. This went on until election, then... after election the emails quit coming. So... OK, I admit that it got the best of me and I sent out 1 email to each making sure they 'knew' how great this election was going to be for this country (snark). They each replied, separately, with a quote from the bible saying something like don't send those emails again, etc. etc. etc. sorry, don't remember exactly, but the gist of it was that they did not want to talk about it again and they were going to pray for him! O8) So, fast forward to the present: Until about a month ago, they never sent any emails concerning politics, then... here we go again - Not my uncle, but my bro-in-law started again, but what he has been sending is old emails from 2, 3 and maybe 4 years ago. Guess the Koch Bros. are trying to save money by resending instead of making new ones. The one 2 days ago was about Muslims praying in the streets of New York, and the one today is about Ollie North in 1987. Today I sent the link where its disproved. But, not to worry, I'm holding my own, I started sending him links to where the Republicans stand against 'the Gays'. :loveya:

5. I got an anti-Muslim email the other day
from an older relative. I've asked them before not to send me their forwards so this is a rare occurance. Anyway it was absolutely disgusting. Just shows how far gone those on the far right are that they actually believe the kind of lies told in these emails. This one was absolutely full of garbage. It said that in France there are areas that women aren't allowed into without wearing a burqa, that Muhammad was a "pedophile" and a "mass murderer", and that Muslims want to take over the world and kill all "insurgents." bleh

6. During the nineties we had the Arkansas Project to create
hate mail, now it could be any number of people.
