Poll question: America is on the right track.
Edited on Fri Sep-17-10 07:31 AM by Skidmore
I keep hearing Rs spouting this talking point that Dems are always approaching them telling them that the we are on the "wrong track". Apparently this is assurance to them of huge gains in November and an equally huge mandate for their policies. Where do you stand on this question and please give me your reasons for believing that a track to be lead onto by the Rs would be preferable.

1. We are on the wrong track.
I don't understand what you mean by "a track to be lead onto by the Rs."

2. Because the election gives us a binary choice.
Tossing it to the Rs in fact would place us in a position where their agenda will be the subject of legislation in the future. That is the choice.

9. The nation is on the wrong track.
Regardless of whether the Rs gain control in Congress.

The nation is on the wrong track under the Obama administration.

The nation would clearly be on the wrong track following a Republican agenda.

There may be choices on the ballot that would help lead us in the direction of the right track, if there are candidates willing to oppose both the Obama agenda and the Republican agenda.

You present the "right" and "wrong" track as a partisan thing. I see it differently.

We are on a track that favors the wealthy and powerful over the average citizen. Both major parties are in different spots on this same track. We need to be on a track that favors the average citizen over the wealthy and powerful.

Is that "track" on the ballot?

5. We are still digging out of the hole where GWB
buried us. I think we are going in the right direction (up and out rather than down deeper) but I can't explain what either "right/wrong track" means.

7. From a right-wing perspective, it means:
1. Expanding rights for minorities;
2. Expanding rights for women;
3. Attempting to give aid to those in need;
4. Maintaining separation of church and state;
5. Expanding regulation on business;
6. Demanding transparency in government;

etc, etc, etc.

You get the picture :)

4. I voted yes.
We are on a better track. The "wrong track" talking point only helps the republicans/teabaggers.

8. yah.
it helps them because everyone has such a short attention span they blame everything wrong in the world on the people who've been in office barely 2 years.

Politics seem so pointless and DUMB to me from now on :banghead:

12. It took a while for Obama to sort out the fucked up switch yard the shrub left him.
I think he's heading us down the right track now but it won't be obvious for a long time.
