McCain’s missed votes on Iraq trigger Reid rebuke

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) is the only presidential candidate in Congress to have missed a major vote on the Iraq war this year, and his absences are not sitting well with Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).

Liz Oxhorn, a spokeswoman for Reid, told The Hill, “Sen. McCain has spent considerable time defending the president on Iraq and catering to the Republican base on immigration, but has only managed to show up for four of the last 14 Iraq votes and parachute into immigration press conference at the last minute. Who is the real John McCain?”

1. Harry's the boss, he should say something--so should Mitch.
This is a guy who's not doing his job as an elected official. And if I were McCain, I would regret "parachuting" in for a presser to stand next to Kennedy on an unpopular bill (to the GOPer base) on immigration reform. That photo didn't sit well with the Freeps.

2. Well, he can't be pinned down that way. The sad thing is,
the sheep can't make that connection and he can sincerely tell one crowd that he doesn't support continued involvement and tell another crowd that he does.

He's a maverick like I'm a blonde--artificially...
