At least 38 House Dems come out in favor of extending Bush Tax Cuts
If we have to lose seats why can't it be some of these people:

If the House works its will, the top income tax brackets will enjoy at least one more year of the Bush tax cuts — a development that would be a sharp rebuke of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and President Barack Obama.

At least 38 House Democrats have now come out publicly in favor of at least a short-term extension of current income tax rates for couples earning more than $250,000 and individuals over the $200,000 threshhold — bucking calls from Obama and Pelosi to let taxes increase on wealthier Americans. Other Democrats have indicated privately that they prefer an extension instead of allowing rates to expire for top earners, and Maryland Rep. Chris Van Hollen, who heads Democratic campaign efforts, has argued behind closed doors for taking a political issue off the table by giving a short reprieve to wealthy folks before the midterm elections.

These Dems who support extending the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy are dip shits and endangering (and therefore our nation) our economy further.

It is now time for some adults to step up and pay for the irresponsible frat boy spending of the past decade. Time for some real leadership to step up and move this country back on track where it was headed back before Reagan.

18. The T-baggers are CREATED by the GOP/right wing ... they're a $$ creation....
and they've attracted other angry, confused voters --

This is nothing new in patterns -- elites have done this before when economic

times get tough start handing out the brown and black shirts!

The only way the right wing rises is on political violence --

stolen elections, violence. And they've been creating that reality with $$$

since the coup on JFK.

4. Well, this is Politico
so the number might reflect a certain amount of wishful thinking on their part.

However, yes, some Blue Dogs have bought the foolish notion that the rich are the people who hand out jobs like welfare and candy and are willing to bankrupt the country trying to prove it.

It's why I donate to their opponents in primaries.

pay as you go assholes

seriesly, I'd donate money to any congressman with the balls (or ovaries) to introduce a bill that continues the tax cuts for the wealthy and pays for it by cutting the salaries of those who vote for it.

Mr. Grayson?

7. This makes the Democratic look weak and ineffective. Obama,
Pelosi and Reid cannot take a position and have
their own members follow.

It appears that Reid and Obama, moreso than Pelosi, are following the members, rather than the other way around..

12. What?
"It appears that Reid and Obama, moreso than Pelosi, are following the members, rather than the other way around."

What does the fact that a few blue dog Democrats are siding with Republicans have to do with the fact that the President and the vast majority of Democrats are standing up against the GOP on the tax cuts?

15. These folks should not feel so comfortable voting for taxcuts for millionaires..
When they return to their districts, they should be challenged on it. Vigorously. Are they willing to vote against the middle class so the millionaires can get an extension of their tax breaks? What makes them any different from Mitch McConnell and John Boehner?? Obviously they are feeling no pressure from Reid or Obama. What do they need? 39 votes in the House to pass it and they only got 38 so far? But we are a big tent Party. Indeed.

26. They are NOT all blue dogs doing this - my own congressman in
a very blue district was talking about doing this a couple of weeks back at a fundraiser!! The attendees were quite understandably pissed off, but he actually tried to justify the reasoning with a "trickle-down" explanation!

27. Simple, the Democratic Party cannot take a position that is a
position their own party will follow. Obama and Co must
be wrong if there are Democrats who vote with the Republicans.
This is how and why they lost Independents.

Blue Dogs are shitbags no matter what Reid and Pelosi do, and they're more loyal to the people pulling their strings than to the leaders of their party.

13. Luke Russert just now said on MSNBC that if the tax cuts are not extended,
that it would take that "disposable income" out of the economy. I thought the tax cuts were implemented so that the extra money would be used to create jobs and to facilitate trickle-down economics? Now it's about "disposable income"? Jesus Christ!

19. I would have no problem extending them for a very very short time under this condition
after 6 months then they expire. No further debate. The End.

I think for alot of democrats in close house races this whole thing is coming across like they are for raising new taxes. Let's fix it so we get it thru the mid-terms and then in 6 months this expires no more debates on it.

We have to begin to do what GOP has long done -- they targeted their

liberals/moderates -- in fact, they also targed Democratic liberals/progressives --

often using the GOP/NRA.

Either we continue on the road to defeat or we begin to do what they did --

and replace these Blue Dogs with liberals/progressives -- ?????????????

22. It's transparent, isn't it?
The wealthy will get their tax breaks because they bought them. I believe they don't save money. Whatever taxes they are not assessed are refunneled into brokering power. They figure if they can buy the politicians, they don't have to pay for government. I understand politicians yield a really favorable ROI, too.
