Woman Killed in Storm Was a Baker

The 30-year-old woman who was killed last night in Queens by a tree that fell onto the car she had pulled off the road during the storm was a talented baker and a very hard worker, according to neighbors.

The woman, Aline Levakis, who lived in Mechanicsburg, Pa., had driven her Lexus onto the shoulder of the Grand Central Parkway in Queens during the storm that struck Brooklyn and Queens late Thursday afternoon when it was struck by the tree.

Her husband, Bill Levakis, 60, who was a passenger in the car with her, was taken to New York Hospital Queens after the accident and released about 10:30 p.m. with minor injuries, a spokeswoman for the hospital said.
