His cartoons are not only right on target and usually blistering, but always well crafted and detailed in terms of the drawing. Political cartoonists largely retain the craft, but there has been a disturbing trend in the stick figure-like quality drawing. Never with Horsey, that's for sure.

5. Yes, he is an artist in the true sense. |

His drawings have incredible detail, depth and perspective. I wonder if he also does "works of art" in the form of watercolors, oil, acrylics, etc? Hope so, because of all of his talent. :)

for the University of Washington Daily, the school newspaper.
He had a lot of fun watching Nixon and Ford go down in those days. When Ford announced that he would let draft evaders come back if they did community service, Horsey drew a cartoon of Ford dressed up as a mother figure, serving a huge meal to a gluttonous Nixon. In the background, there were three slightly hippie looking guys with buckets and mops, one was saying, "Mama Ford, we're done with cleaning the basement, is there any dinner left?" At the table, Nixon belched, and said "Pardon me..."
Funny what you still remember after all these years!
