ABC News ABC News’ Devin Dwyer reports: The hottest pop music star in America continued her push for a repeal of the military’s Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy with a new web video addressed to prominent Senate Republicans, who have threatened to filibuster the measure when it comes up for a vote next week.
“We are not asking you to agree with or approve the moral implications of homosexuality,” said a somber Lady Gaga, dressed in a black suit against a backdrop of an American flag. “We are asking you to do your job: to protect the Constitution.”
Gaga called the policy, which bars gays from serving openly in the military and resulted in the discharge of thousands of veterans, “unconstitutional” and “unfairly enforced.”
“Senators, when you’re sending our men and women to war, when you’re sending our wives, husbands, sons and daughters into combat, will you honor their service? Will you support repealing this law on Tuesday and pledge to them that no American’s life is more valuable than another?” she said.
