Mittens Must Be Furious Tonight
As Palin has as good as declared her candidacy. He can't beat her and he must know it. Of course if he and the others hadn't sold their souls to the rightwing of their party and genuflected on the altar of hate he might have a shot. He and the others of his party allowed the monster to 'mature'. It's fitting that he and the other hypocritical opportunists pay a price.

14. I would try not to accuse people of selling their souls.
Also why I do not make deals.

I also believe people can reclaim those things, if they did make some deals in their life. Because in truth the deals don't exist.

I believe grace is stronger then any 'deal' And the point is that a 'deal' is a delusion to get people to think it is to late for them.

It is never real, since deals require informed consent, and nobody can be completely informed on the supernatural.

Quiet simply, Faustian deals do not exist, and are only made by things so that people think they exist, so people think they are damned, when only thinking such a deal exist can do that.

Note I never made deals, yet things tried to say I did, and when I showed they were wrong, they tried to say I made some other deal, in contradiction to the first lie about some deal. So I know from observations that deals are delusions to break souls, not actual things that have an effect on souls.

And I don't make deals, because I don't need to, not because they would be bad, but because they really don't exist in the first place. If someone thinks they made some deal, just walk away from it, with claims of lack of informed consent. Simply claim the gift of free will, stronger then any deal.

One of the last things a person has to overcome, is even the writings that try to make them feel they are in a bad place. Since even inspired writings can be seen as either good or bad.

17. It Is A Figure Of Speech & Not To Be taken Literally
For the reasons you have just mentioned. It is an expression describing the betrayal of one's self for the sake of of power, money or political gain. But then I'm sure you know that.

20. And how did it become a figure of speech?
Edited on Fri Sep-17-10 08:59 PM by RandomThoughts
I sense you may be making some less then flattering comment.

"But then I'm sure you know that."

Can you elaborate on that?

Note I have no political power, no money, nor have betrayed what I can think and feel is best.

However I will have what is due to me, which includes much money and good times, I don't decide if I have power, that would be other peoples decisions.

And I don't let other things say what I need, nor do I let other things make those claims without being able to support them.

Quite specifically, what I need is defined by my knowledge of who I am, not some other attempt to use or take from me by not correcting what should be corrected. They will pay.

27. Wikipedia Calls It A Cuktural Motif
“A deal with the Devil, pact with the Devil, or Faustian bargain is a cultural motif widespread in the West, best exemplified by the legend of Faust and the figure of Mephistopheles, but elemental to many Christian folktales. In the Aarne-Thompson typological catalog, it lies in category AT 756B – "The devil's contract."

According to traditional Christian belief in witchcraft, the pact is between a person and Satan or any other demon (or demons); the person offers his or her soul in exchange for diabolical favors. Those favors vary by the tale, but tend to include youth, knowledge, wealth, or power. It was also believed that some persons made this type of pact just as a sign of recognizing the Devil as their master, in exchange for nothing. Regardless, the bargain is a dangerous one, for the price of the Fiend's service is the wagerer's soul. The tale may have a moralizing end, with eternal damnation for the foolhardy venturer. Conversely it may have a comic twist, in which a wily peasant outwits the Devil, characteristically on a technical point.

Any apparently superhuman achievement might be credited to a pact with the Devil, from the numerous European Devil's Bridges to the superb violin technique of Niccolò Paganini.”…cont…

And far from being unflattering, I was giving you credit for knowing something and using it to expand the discussion.

29. And Christian doctrine
Edited on Fri Sep-17-10 09:33 PM by RandomThoughts
speaks of gifts of the spirit that includes miracles. Then people usually pick the things that help them and say that is the good side, and those they don't like, they say is the bad side.

So according to Christian doctrine, power does not mean good or bad, people have to find and decide for themselves what side something is from.

And again.

Personally, I don't make deals. I think they are delusions, and I have no need to make a deal, but instead trust in the promise of the loving father that is God in spirit.

22. I don't think Palin will run
Actually running is work and she does not like to work. She loves the money though.
She loves the money so much that when she realizes that she can no longer charge $100,000 for a one nighter where all she does is talks out loud she will bow out.
Plus she has learned to love that as a pundit she never has to answer for her idiotic statements like the Limp one or the Becker head.
But she must pretend to run to keep her price up. As long as she can tease fools with a hint of running her price stays up and her worshippers buy her books et al.

23. I tend to agree.
I think she loves the limelight, and is intent upon keeping herself in it. She may be more focused on influencing who Mitt chooses as his running mate, than actually risking a humiliating defeat in the primaries.

25. Before Today I Would've Agreed With You
Now this may still be a continuation of her game or her head has gotten so big she now thinks she'd br suitable. We'll know for sure soon enough. I heard her speech as another example of what you described in your OP on Beck and what Campbell had to say.

“Sarah Palin tends to shy away from questions regarding her presidential ambitions, but not on Friday, when she told Fox News that given some vague preconditions, she'd be willing to "give it a shot" in 2012.

In Des Moines, Iowa, for the annual Reagan Dinner fundraiser -- a perennial destination for Republican presidential hopefuls -- the ex-governor and 2008 vice-presidential nominee said she'd be "willing" to go head to head with President Barack Obama if voters think she's "the one."

"If the American people were to be ready for someone who is willing to shake it up, and willing to get back to time-tested truths, and help lead our country towards a more prosperous and safe future and if they happen to think I was the one, if it were best for my family and for our country, of course I would give it a shot," Palin said. "But I'm not saying that it's me. I know I can certainly make a difference without having a title. I'm having a good time doing exactly that right now."

Palin has shown little hesitation when it comes to endorsing candidates -- most of them backed by the tea party -- in Republican primaries this year. Recent polling, however, suggests her support may be a double-edged sword. In a CBS poll released Wednesday, only 21 percent of respondents reported a favorable opinion of Palin, and even among self-identified conservative respondents her favorables rose no higher than 50 percent.”…cont…
