Message or Money : Which is more important?? |
|
I have read that the Democratic Party has more money on hand than do the Republicans. Does it really matter that much, since corporations are permitted to interject as much money as they wish into political campaigns.
But even if you have money, what do you do with it? What is the purpose of money in politics? It is to get out your message. If you spend a million dollars on a shitty message, then it does not do you very much good. Or you might spend a tenth of that on an exceptional ad with a message that touches the voters in a personal way. In this case, the message is more important than the money.
Of course, money has many other uses in campaigns. But no matter its use, its purpose is to get out a message that puts your candidate in a better light than your opponent. Any opinions?

1. You cant compare these things ... |
|
There is extreme overlap of message and money in an election ....
SURELY, if you are deficient in either, you will get trounced ...
If you have both in spades, you can still lose ....

2. If you have enough money you could, literally, buy up all available air time... |

and not let your opponent advertise. That type of money, will by its very existence, drive up the price of commercials, increasing the cost of elections, requiring ever more infusions of money from Corporate coffers.

3. Meg Whitman. -- if Jerry gets out of this it'll be a miracle. |

Her war chest is the same as the repuke party.
The same could be said of corzine. And he lost.
I would say this -- Americans expect to see a real Leftist legislative politics from dems. Not giving the that might be pissing them off.
