his leg or whatever that was he said about obama during the election. yes there are attractive people. and then they open up their mouth and the ugly comes out in droves. there is something about a person who has no intellectual curiosity that turns me off. even if you aren't the smartest person around, if you don't even have the desire to learn about anything beyond your immediate surroundings, you are not going to be a very intelligent person or someone who will know what to do in the kinds of situations presidents and other elected officials find themselves in.

16. I turned to MSNBC this AM and they were spouting about Palin, I turned it off. Also, |
|
I seldom watch Chris Matthews all the way through. Sometimes I think Chris Matthews has caught Lou Dobbs disease. He's getting to sound like him, sometimes. I'm really tired of the endless pushing of Palin by MSM.
And KO and Rachel Maddow have an inordinate amount of endless commercials.

19. WE BETTER PAY ATTENTION!!!! |
|
Chris is warning us. The Tea Party and the likes of Palin, Angle, Bachmann and Beck have found a campaign platform that strikes a cord with the electorate..."Restore America". They are learning from past mistakes that negativity on its own fails. BUT....take job losses, national debt, throw in the flag, the constitution, social issues and stir in fear....now you have a theme that resonates with many Americans. "Restore America", a much stronger slogan than Obama's "Audacity to Hope". The Tea Party taken a twist on hope message and now using the same message against Obama and Dems. A phony platform, but a very, very powerful one. A brilliant strategy. We need to open our eyes, recognize how well the Tea Party is pulling this off and start to fight back. In this climate of fear, economic uncertainty and voter apathy (in the democratic party), the Tea Party/Republicans will succeed.

22. IMO there is a primitive sexual/racial undercurrent driving the TeaBag movement. |
|
But, this is not to say that those who are supporting them are consciously having sexual ideations. It goes deeper than that, perhaps into an underlying insecurity brought about by the rapid deterioration of life quality that is self-evident to all. For thousands of years, primitive people worshiped "fertility Goddesses". Maybe we are going through a terrible throwback human practice.
Most people have just about had it with crooked, greedy and unhealthy white men running all of the show. They might be thinking it's about time to try some good looking women. From their view point, why not? They couldn't do much worse than the current crop of politicians.
However, the disconnect is that the Tea Party candidates are showing almost no signs of being qualified to be leaders.

24. I have a feeling we're sliding into a country wherein many citizens will try |
|
to live incognito, underground, avoiding surveillance as best we can, etc., etc. I could see the McCarthy era easily returning to this country if the RW gains power, starts to purify the country, purge the dissenters and install a theocracy.
Some might laugh at this, but look what has happened in history. There is no reason to believe we are immune. Hell, many of those running for office and most voting for them don't even understand how the country is structured. I am old now and I see the current times as the most dangerous I've experienced.
