Me 800 feet above ground level (pic)
Taken by my wife last Sunday. In this picture I'm the second from the front. Ordinarily there would be two rows of jumpers but the right door was broken. Cheers!

1. that's awesome! But I'd freak out with my fear of heights
There is probably nothing that could convince me to jump.

I agreed to go to jump school to conquer my fear of heights. It didn't work! :wtf:

So now I just have to deal with it. :) Once I'm out the door and my chute opens I'm fine though.

6. So how many seconds of hell between ...
getting out the door and waiting to see if your chute opens? Ughh, my stomach just took a little turn at the thought. ;)

Stay safe! (are you doing this on active duty?)

8. Just a couple seconds
You're supposed to count to four, "Onethousand, twothousand...." and if by fourthousand you don't feel the tug you pull your reserve.

3. Hell's bells
I was on final by 800 feet. Heck, a CYPRES will fire at that altitude. Guess it makes spotting easy. Just look down.

7. Aren't you worried about posting pictures of yourself on the internet?
Now people will recognize you on the street
