1. Nothing wrong with witchcraft.
As much as I like seeing them both go down in flames, I hate that it is this way.

2. I don't know. There's a kind of poetic karmic justice to it.
This is the 21st Century at least in this country Wicca is now taken seriously as a religion yet the loud mouthed Christians are being taken down by their fellow Christians for even coming near it. They're ignorant fools who mix up witches with satanists and blood sacrifices on altars. They pull their fired up hair over Harry Potter because the story involves magic and they think they need to take their country back from science and progress and equal rights.

Wiccans and Pagans are far more evolved than those Right Wing banshee Christians who are a throwback to the dark ages.

3. My only problem with Harry Potter
Edited on Sat Sep-18-10 05:28 PM by merqz
is that it's a (imo) blatant rip-off of the Wizard of Earthsea trilogy by Ursula K Leguin, and imo an inferior version.

I do have some Mormon friends, who LOVE Harry Potter and their kids have read each book a few times. Maybe that says something about love of mythology and magick or something vs. the fundies who see any alternate mythology as an attack on their own version...
