Murkowski defends write-in Senate bid,Joe Miller to do away with Medicare, SS

Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska says her write-in effort to re-enter the race to retain her seat in the Senate isn't undermining the Republican Party.

Speaking in an interview Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union," Murkowski said she received countless phone calls, e-mails and faxes urging her to stay in the contest.

In mounting the write-in bid, she says she's "listening to my constituents" and is "going to give them a choice."

Murkowski says that suggestions by the GOP's nominee, Joe Miller, to do away with Medicare, Social Security and the Education Department are too radical for most Alaskans.

1. The funny thing is that Joe Miller isn't even backing off like Sharon Angle did.
He not only wants to eliminate both Social Security and Medicare -- he this it is unconstitutional not to do so. He believes that our democracy isn't even allowed to enact such programs, even if large majorities wanted them (which they do).

Perhaps Miller is right not to worry. After all, Alaska is extremely Republican, and it is unlikely that Republicans in Alaska are going to vote for the Democrat regardless of Miller's proposed policies. But Miller gives an example of how extreme today's Republican party can get. Even Jim Demint doesn't actually ADMIT he wants to end SS and Medicare (though he clearly does).

2. Joe Miller's copy of the Constitution doesn't have the General Welfare clause.

7. So he wants to do away with the Air Force?
This should be asked of every one of these wacktards when they spout this nonsense. Watch them trip all over the tongues about using "common sense" and "reason" when interpreting the Constitution in a modern light.

3. Doing away with Medicare will be the death
knell for a lot of seniors including this one. It is the only thing keeping me alive today.

4. Candidates should frame doing away with Medicare and SS as the biggest

tax increase on the middle class ever.

I have been paying over 7% on every dollar I have earned most of my working life. That money was suppose to be put away for my retirement and medical care after I retire. If those programs go away, all of that money will converted into an income tax to be used to pay for the general budget and for huge tax cuts for the rich. I doubt very much that the Republicans have any plans of paying that back to the people who paid it in.

Tea Baggers should be livid about what this idiot stands for, especially those screaming about their Obama putting his government hands on their medicare. He is not only advocating for taking that away but for a huge retroactive tax increase on them. But these "mice with human brains" will gleefully follow him right off the cliff. Fools and tools.

5. I will fully support her in her bid to split the Republican vote in Alaska.
God bless her pin-head sized brain and boundless ego.

8. I support it also
And the best thing about it is that I think it's more of a personnel thing against Palin! Palin has to be really pissed off about this, and when her man Miller goes down, and Alaska goes blue, it is going to really take her down a few notches! The more of her "loons" that lose the less power she will have, and the more the right will lose interest in her! She will make her millions, and still have a following of the super brain dead, but that will be about it!

6. Democrats should use the same talking points
Most of the republican party wants to do away with not only SS and medicare, but the vast majority of social programs that help those in need! This should be a top point made by democrats, and they should force the hand of the "nuts" by making them defend their insane ideas! I have a feeling that even republican seniors would be really ticked off about this, they may not vote for a democrat, but they might just stay home and "NOT" vote at all if their choices were about SS and medicare being taken away!
