7. I dated a black woman for over 6 years and I have seen that look so many times that it just register

instantly. Like when my gf got out of line to use the rest room while we were waiting in line for movie tickets, when she left we were last in line, when she got out about 6 white couples were standing behind me and when she came up to stand beside me again she got that look. I think that is when I realized that race was still as big of an issue in 2000 as it was in 1965 when I kissed a black girl at the city park, I still remember mom beating my ass then washing my mouth out with soap for that little adventure.
