Interesting what this Beck follower had to say about RINOs
Paul Wheeler, who drove in from Indianapolis wearing a maroon Revolutionary-era outfit, was defiant over establishment concerns that the tea party movement was splintering the Republican party.

"Too bad," Wheeler said. "In the case of Delaware, even if she does not win in November, we've kicked out a RINO," or a Republican in name only.

"If a Democrat wins, at least we know what they're about," he said. "It's better than having somebody who betrays their principles — who claims to be a conservative but is mostly opposite."

I wonder how that's going to work out for them. I guess we'll see in the fall.

2. That's very illuminating
That's ideological purity carried to ridiculous extremes. They would rather see a Democrat win instead of a Republican that doesn't meet their standards...whatever the hell they are. Robert Bennett, one of the most conservative GOP members in the Senate, from Utah, lost his primary fight this year...because he wasn't conservative enough even for them.

If I were people like Scott Brown or Olympia Snowe, Republicans up for re-election in 2012, I'd be very, very worried right now.

4. I see it as a cautionary tale
Wonder what the Tea Party would do with Colin Powell? Saw his interview on one of the talk shows this morning. He was so reasonable and sensible. I miss the true statesmen of old.

7. It's not exactly the same
Some DU'ers would be glad to see the Democratic Party purged of its most conservative 20%. But the Tea Partiers want to see the Republican Party purged of its most moderate 80%.

You can describe that as the same thing -- but it isn't, really.

11. Moderate 80%?
I'm not so sure there are that many moderates in the Republican Party any more...

6. Which means Beck followers are ego driven....
and care more about the attention they are getting than any real change. Probably because they know they don't have the skills to effect change, just to disrupt.

That's what I get out of this anyway.

9. If he's listening to Beck for history lessons,
obviously not. We all know Beck will lie if it feels "truthier" or it suits his purpose. He's been caught often enough at it, but that doesn't seem to matter to his acolytes.

10. We can only hope the right is split by the tea partiers and it continues for decades. That would be
wonderful.
