1. My heart for some plumeria!
I miss that smell!!

That's a tough question. Rich-yes. Everyone else-no.

2. Gave mine up today.
I live in Chicago and grew it from a 10inch cutting to a 6 ft tree with 8 ft canopy.
I've had it for 8 years but it finally grew too large to get back indoors for the winter.
Kind of a bummer but I gave it to a local master gardener who will keep it in his greenhouse.

This drove me to the website where I spotted the poll.

Holy moly. We did that, too, but in TX. Had a hell of a time
getting flowers some years, then it got too big to haul inside. I'm glad you found a good home for your 'baby'. :)

18. I knew it needed a new home when my wife suggested I go at it
with the lopping shears and send it to the curb.
Saved 6 flowers today that are proudly resting in shot glasses on the window sill.
Good times...I'll get a cutting and start over in the spring!

9. Wow - what did you use for potting soil - what did you feed it?
My plants are chest high and about 5 years old. Ready for transplanting etc. - getting close to the time to bring in for the winter.

Was wondering if you had any tips to share.

15. Mine was a third attempt and I got better with each try.

Here are some tips-
Use miracle grow potting soil and feed it with miracle grow every other week.
Repot your plumeria to ensure it has enough soil to avoid getting rootbound. (I had it in a 24" diameter pot 20" deep for the last two years).
If it looks rootbound when you repot, use a razor knife to slice 1" deep every 6" or so around the perimeter of the roots.
Water daily...it's a tropical and needs a LOT of water but it likes dry feet, so the soil must drain well.
Plumeria need full sun.

The guy who adopted her offered me cuttings and I'll likely start anew in the the spring.
Enjoy!

3. The tax cut should expire for the wealthy only. It's high time that
they be made to pay back some of their ill-gotten profits, don't you think?

6. Not all of them got there on "ill-gotten profits", but I agree it's high time to repeal bewsh
tax cuts for those over $250K.
Please be sure to hit the poll at the link.

19. Okay. Got it. I'm surprised that only 48% voted for cutting
taxes for those making less than 250K.

5. A small reminder.....
Edited on Sun Sep-19-10 08:40 PM by Trey9007
If you notice, the things the GOP is saying to justify extending these tax cuts for the rich, has already been proven false.

Remember this?? http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/mccains_small-business_bunk.html

Too bad the Dems aren't hitting back with the facts.

7. The gop is full of poop. We know that. They don't want to
raise the deficit for anything, yet this is A-OK.

They have no further ideas either.

And welcome to DU, Trey9007.

How true! And this helps the Neocon leadership to keep their voters ignorant.

Dems. don't seem to be much bothered by the Republican-made electronic
voting machines that leave no paper trails, either. Most states still use
them today. Go figure!

20. This is an issue the Democrats clearly have an advantage
in. Do they have the spine to use it probably NO. They had a similar poll in our local paper last week and let the taxes go up on the rich was over 60%. Every poll they have in our paper the Republicans side usually gets 70% or better, not on that issue..
