Gawker: Tea Party Queen Does Not Deny Being a Teen Witch
At a GOP picnic, Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell laughed off her 1999 claim that she "dabbled into witchcraft": "How many of you didn't hang out with questionable folks in high school? There's been no witchcraft since."

Wait—so she's not denying the initial claim that she once went on a date on a satanic altar? Christine continued: "If there was (witchcraft), Karl Rove would be a supporter now." This is one step away from turning into The Crucible.

I was hoping someone would post the non denial denial.

Even further, she is saying that if she were still doing witchcraft, KKKarl Rove would fall prey to her. So she not only magically believes she could be senator, she also believes she could control KKKarl with a twitch of her nose?

1. In a perfect world
And I'm going to knock a few people's noses out of joint here...

In a perfect world, the issue wouldn't be that she "dabbled in witchcraft," but how her gullibility - since she obviously still believes witchcraft is real - should be a point against her when deciding if she's smart enough to be a senator.

3. Same could be said about the arrogance of not believing in the existence of the supernatural.
How do you know, many presume what they have not seen does not exist.

What do you breathe? Ever seen that?

You probably don't like people of faith telling you what you should believe, and what 'is', why would you do the same thing telling them what isn't?

6. Call it arrogance if you want
No, but one can feel the air as wind and know it's there. Everytime I've been exposed to the "supernatural," it doesn't even equal a mild breeze as the tricks and methods they use are the shoddiest of magic tricks.

One can use the scientific method - something more glorious, substantial, and incredibly more beneficial to humankind than any supernatural claim - to discover things that one can't see - air, quarks, etc. You can also use it to test for supernatural claims - from being able to perform witchcraft to whatever flavor of ESP you like, etc. Alas, no supernatural claim has ever been duplicated under properly controlled experiments - even the simplest double-blinded ones, and while you can't really prove a negative, the 100% failure rate does make it extremely unlikely that it exists.

So, much like I would mock someone who proposes using dowsers to help us find oil to ease the energy crisis or someone who's going to use his Parker Brothers Ouija Board to talk with the spirit of Ben Franklin for insight into how to govern, what I choose to focus on is her belief in the bullshit that is witchcraft - not that she once dabbled in it.

And much like the guy who puts up his social security number in the tv commercials to advertise his product for preventing identity theft, I will supply just about whatever is necessary to a witchcraft practitioner (locks of hair, a personal belonging, etc.) so they can curse me for my insolence.

9. I was not speaking of esp or witchcraft, I don't know about those things.

I also do not believe in Ouija Boards, but understand the concept.

In all seriousness I understand your views, and there is a reason you have those views, could be you don't need to know of the supernatural because you are doing fine, some think that. Could be you are blocked from knowing it so others can use it for their advantage against you, some believe that.

Basically the different views you have, and I have are based on different experiences. I know there is a supernatural because I have seen it 1000 times. Your belief is that it does not exist, because you have not seen it, and people you believe, have not told you about it.

Can you stipulate that if it did exist, and you were not told about it, and did not see it, you would probably answer the way you did?

I like this song,

Your Latest Trick, so you are correct much of it is like tricks. Mostly with sequencing of events so only if you see every piece is it obvious. That way it can be right in front of you, but if the sequence is not shown it does not unlock the observation to see it.

The posting I did, took the same comments made by many people, and turned up the volume of where they were speaking about the supernatural, once you know the lingo, you can see the same stories in many items, although there are filters and blockers that make them seen many ways.

I realize I am typing this and you are not believing any of it. LOL, maybe its suppose to be that way, maybe its your choice.

Either way, this is still a good song.

Your Latest Trick - Dire Straits.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YTh1Wsqo2c

All the late night bargains have been struck
Between the satin beaus and their belles
And prehistoric garbage trucks
Have the city to themselves
Echoes roars dinosaurs
They're all doing the monster mash
And most of the taxis and the whores
Are only taking calls for cash

I don't know how it happened
It all took place so quick
But all I can do is hand it to you
And your latest trick

My door was standing open
Security was laid back and lax
But it was only my heart got broken
You must have had a pass key made out of wax
You played robbery with insolence
And I played the blues in twelve bars down Lover's Lane
And you never did have the intelligence to use
The twelve keys hanging off my chain

I don't know how it happened
It all took place so quick
But all I can do is hand it to you
And your latest trick

Now it's past last call for alcohol
Past recall has been here and gone
The landlord finally paid us all
The satin jazzmen have put away their horns
And we're standing outside of this wonderland
Looking so bereaved and so bereft
Like a Bowery bum when he finally understands
The bottle's empty and there's nothing left

I don't know how it happened
It was faster than the eye could flick
But not all I can do is hand it to you
And your latest trick

Although I will have the beer and travel money I am due :D

There is a funny thing, there are actually people that think the clips played have meaning beyond the choice to play them, and they do :) . Some would think the song posted is about me, or them, maybe part of it is, maybe not. But any song can be posted, I think that is part of being free.

So I will have the beer and travel money, and many good experiences :D

10. I have exposed myself to the "supernatural" as often as you
I'm just plain not understanding this question:

Can you stipulate that if it did exist, and you were not told about it, and did not see it, you would probably answer the way you did?

I have sat through seances, palm readers, demonstrations of witchcraft, Ouija board demos, people who claim to function with a 6th sense, etc. Thanks to my interest in sleight of hand and stage magic, I can't help but "see the strings." Often time, I'm quietly bemused; a few times, I've gotten up and performed their schtick after they were done. Because of these experiences, I feel comfortable saying that you and I have benefited from science an infinite times more than the supernatural.

11. I have never done any of those things you mention.
Edited on Mon Sep-20-10 01:29 AM by RandomThoughts

Never really looked for the supernatural, just got some help one day after a few years of being kicked around.

Since then I can look at clouds and they paint smiley faces, and pictures (you can laugh at that) And if I am sad I can find much joy.

However I have not been able to, as of yet, find a way to correct the issue from what was done wrong to me, so shrug, been working on that.

There are some other stories when I was younger, but will save that for another day.

12. Religious nutters will worry if she's in league with the devil . . .
Everyone else will wonder if she has two brain cells to rub together. That's win-win by me.

In a Republican candidate?

Sort of "Sarah Palin Lite" if one's brain is sufficiently flexible to even embrace such a concept.

13. ROFLMAO!
That face is priceless. :D

In all seriousness though, Christine didn't find herself in the middle of a witchcraft ceremony. They don't have alters with blood on them...satanic cults do. We need to push that meme and call her out on it. She was involved with a satanic cult...not witchcraft.
