Huge fire south-west of SLC...
Started by a machine gun off of Camp Williams. At least 1,262 homes have been evacuated.

Scary stuff!

5. Everywhere in the west seems to be dry as a bone
Here, in a city suburb just west of Denver, we haven't had rain since early August and that was a few polka dots on the pavement. It's bad.

3. SLC is Salt Lake City? For those not in the know? UTAH?
Seriously, you know where it is, but I live in GA (that's Georgia).

6. Yes, sorry. Salt Lake City.
It's about 45 minutes south-west of downtown in the southern part of the Salt Lake Valley.

8. That's what they say...
Someone was shooting it, sparked a fire and we've had really high winds the last two days, so it rapidly moved.
