Migration patterns out of Mexico are oftentimes difficult to decipher. Many individuals from a small village will cement themselves in the same city or town in the US, living together. Strength in numbers. So many of these groups clustered together hold similar patterns of thought and belief. Maybe this defines your buds. Of course education will go a long way for those who come here with only a 3rd or 6th grade education. That changes things a bit.

The protests were there, as they seem to be almost every month in Mexico City, hundreds of thousands strong, fighting for some reason or another. And the new immigrants put us all "natives" to shame last March 2006 when millions marched in their new country.

And frankly, working in Mexico City was great. I wouldn't call it a shithole. It's quite a beautiful city. Sure it needs money invested but for a city of 25 million people it sure was nice. It's not San Diego or San Francisco or Chicago, but even those cities have "shit hole" areas. You must have stayed in the shanty towns on the outskirts, courtesy of NAFTA and neoliberalism.

Police in Mexico City make less than a quarter what cops make in the U.S., so they're not picky about looking the other way if the price is right. It may be a beautiful city but it's more dangerous than any city here.

While the other individual generalized and referred to an entire nation (100 million strong), I simply referred to the Freeper minority in this nation of 300 million, which can more adequately be defined. Here's a survey that popped up a while ago. Scroll down to the "Education, Age and Knowledge" section. Seems to me a lot of those at the top are right-wing sources, which doesn't make any sense considering we've already established them as being braindead morons.

Be careful not to underestimate the enemy. We've had far too many surprises when it comes election-time. One good way of doing that is sticking to the issues and throwing out your "exaggerations".
