People arrested for feeding homeless and refusing to turn over cell phone camera to cops
Edited on Mon Sep-20-10 12:01 PM by no limit
Apparently feeding the homeless in downtown Albuquerque is frawned upon if you don't have a business license. And turns out cops have a right to make up their own rules for arresting people. My apologies for not having a story, this run locally today and for some reason they don't have a story online. But the video of the incident is here:

on edit, here is the story (thank you jayfish):

First the police claim that feeding the homeless is illegal without a business license which is probably true as absurd as such a law is. Then they claim they have a right to take the cell phone of a witness as evidance even if the person did nothing wrong. This turns out to be against APD policy but when have rules actually applied to cops? The person holding the cell phone was arrested for not complying with the orders of a police officer.

The police officer seen in this video, officer Leah Kelly, was involved in a shooting earlier last week. She shot a man armed with a butter knife 2 times in the chest killing him. Yes, you read that right, he was armed with a butter knife. The men turned out to have a series of mental problems. This was the 11th police related shooting in Albuquerque just this past year:

Let the light shine on this situation.

A crime to be poor, a crime to help the poor.

We are SUCH a "Christian" nation, eh?

5. Give someone a black polo shirt with a badge stenciled on it and shades, and this is what happens.
This is like watching the Milgram experiment at Yale. There's an inherent tendency to abuse authority here.

6. This is such a Christian country...
NOT!

In a Christian country, feeding and sheltering the homeless would be a priority, not a crime.

Example #6322 why the claim that this country is Christian is a bunch of poppycock.
