So how do we fight back? And who are we fighting?
I’ve read countless posts on DU about “fighting back.” We all know that the state of the country really sucks right now and most of us here want to stop the insanity. But here’s the problem. How do we fight back? And who are we fighting against?

Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Sharron Angle, Rand Paul, and the O’Donnell nut from Delaware are a few of our most visible enemies. So exactly what is it you we going to do to fight back against them? Acquire a few media networks? Buy a megaphone and enlighten the American public? Open a storefront to educate those who don’t get it? Dust off the guillotine?

No matter what we do, here’s the problem. The billionaires who are financing the crazies, the propagandists and their “movement” are the real enemies. And exactly how many of them can you name beyond the Koch brothers, Rupert Murdoch, and Richard Mellon Scaife? It’s tough to fight enemies when you don’t even know who they are.

And even if we did know who they are, what could we do about it? Our biggest weapon is the vote and that has been stolen from us time and again and will continue to be stolen.

I’ve done a few posts on these issues, and I’m having trouble overcoming feelings of hopelessness and helplessness. Perhaps, some day in the future when our current “dark age” has passed, people will wonder how we could have let it happen. The answer is complex, but the most immediate factor that comes to mind is that the wealthy and powerful are never held accountable for the crimes they commit against us, our Constitution, and the rest of the world. Prosecuting them would be a start, but they own the system.

1. We are up against a lot of stupidity and ignorance.
I don't know how we fight back other than to demand a different dialogue. Every time a news' person or a politician says something stupid or that is a lie on TV, radio or in print, we need to let them know that they are stupid. If they are lying deliberately to play a game of dirty pool they need to be told to stop it because lives are at stake, many of them children.

I loved that Stephanie Miller pointed out how bad Christine O'Donnell's grammar and syntax were this morning and Christine claims she's an English major. This needs to be pointed out to her campaign directly by email, telephone or whatever it takes to get the message out. Sarah Palin too has a degree in Communications and she can't say a paragraph that makes any sense. She needs to be called out on it by many of us.

Yesterday, I watched CNN for about twenty minutes. It was called The Newsroom but two women were sitting on a couch in short skirts like they do on Fox News were talking about silly stuff that had not very much to do with news. I left a message on their contact page that suggested they get some real anchors on who are sitting behind a desk because while they were babbling, real news was being made and no one heard it. I told them that if they expect me to turn on their channel on the weekend, they need to stop pandering to twelve year olds.
