1. WCPT stream doesn't have him on
and when there was a Boston progressive station to stream, they didn't have him on when I could listen, though they had promos for him. Every streaming radio station I've been on has had Jones Radio personalities Stephanie Miller and Ed Schultz, followed by Randi Rhodes. When is this Lionel fellow on? How does he compare to Big Eddie?

4. He is different than anyone
He is a great radio personality and probably has a big national audience he brings into AAR. For a real in-depth look at the important issues he is not the best. He enjoys arguments about logic and I think he tends to help us there but when it comes to the important issues, Thom Hartman and Randi Rhodes blow him out of the water.

I do enjoy listening to him though and I am glad he is on. He serves his purpose and brings in a broad listening audience. He has the best radio personality of anyone on AAR but not the deepest program. I would rank him above Big Eddie though. He is clearly smarter but Big Ed at least takes a stab at the most important issues we are facing.

7. I mentioned on another thread that I heard him do great segments on Jose Padilla
and the US Attorneys scandal — I was quite impressed.

8. They Used To Carry Him
He was on the weekends when WCPT launched and listeners didn't glam on to him. The station airs Bill Press and Stephanie Miller during Lionel's time slot on AAR.

Personally, I think the guy's harmless...boring, but harmless...and surely not the red meat that AAR listeners hunger for. I like the idea of Arianna having a daily show.

I've always liked them dammit!

edit: it's really the guy who moved on up into Sam Seder's slot at Air America. Sam has a Sunday show now.

10. And it looks like they're stepping up ad sales, too!
April 25, 2007– Air America Radio announced today that the network has signed an agreement with Westwood One. Beginning June 1, Westwood One will oversee all network ad sales for Air America in addition to affiliate ad sales, in conjunction with the network’s in-house affiliate relations department. The network will end its three year relationship with Jones Media Group.

Serving more than 5,000 radio stations, Westwood One is the nation’s leading provider of audio content. It distributes more than 150 news, sports, music, talk, entertainment programs, features and live events and, through its Metro Networks division, provides local content to the radio and TV industries including news, sports, weather, traffic, video news services and other information. Westwood One is managed by CBS Radio.

11. Richie?
Awesome!

Will he be doing the bit where he bellows at the unsuspecting blind girl?

Perhaps he could have a spot phoning blind girls and shout "HELLO!!!" at them on air.

A new direction for AAR? Perhaps.

12. I've listen for two days or three days
I find him kind of boring. He went into the US Attorney scandal the other day and he just rehashed everything I knew already. If a talk show host can give me some new information or something to think about, I rate them high. I really like Thom Hartman and Randi. But so far Lionel has given me nothing. I'm neutral right now. We'll see. I miss Sam Seeder, I never realized how he always gave me something to think about.
