Somewhere I heard about a drug program for low-income elderly.
Where the drug companies offer reduced prices. Does anyone know anything about this?

1. Some do but it's really hit or miss.
The best thing to do is to write the drug company that produces the drug you need and ask them what they offer.

2. I believe you're thinking of the
Perscription Assistance Program. It can really help even though I've heard the application process can be a pain in the ass. If I understand it properly you have to apply seperately for each drug or at least for each Pharmaceutical company. At least now it looks like you can fill out a single form on the website.

On the downside it only covers branded medicine, I don't know of programs other than those offered by the Government for generics.

You can get more information here:

http://www.pparx.org/

Or give them a call at 1-888-477-2669

Good luck.

4. A bit more info here
Go to the individual pharma company web page. Most of them will have a site that lists Patient Assistance Programs in addition to the one I listed earlier.

For example: Bristol-Myers Squibb

6. Thanks, again!
My relative just had to pay another $1,000 for three months, so I'm trying to help her.

it was posted here in Oct. 09. I haven't used it, but the original poster highly recommended it.

7. Thank you very much.
This relative has very little besides Social Security and now just paid another $1,000 for three months of meds. Hopefully I'll be able to find something to help her.
