I'm now completely convinced we have only stupid people in GA gov't! |
|
OR they simply don't gas about anything!
I just received my absentee ballot in the mail and I was reviewing it to see who was running for the lower ticket positions and what resolutions they came up with THIS TIME. I found one resolution that if passed will add a $10 fee to your vehicle renewal to fund a "trauma care fund". Now I don't have a problem with the $10 but I want to understand what the underlying reason is for this fund. Is it for the uninsured? Is it going to help out ins. co's? Sooo, I started looking online. I followed my search all the way to the actual Senate resolution, and the only explaination was "this has been discussed for years; The General Assembly will determine the purposes for which funds will be released." WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN? Sooo, today I called the elections office. They didn't know and referred me to the Sec. of State. I call there & they didn't know but referred me to the State Senator who sponsored the bill. His asst. didn't know but told me to leave a message on his voice mail and he'd "PROBABLY" get back to me I figured I'd try one last place & called the Dem Hdq. of Ga. Nobody there knew the ans to my question but gave me the VM of their political advisor and she'd likely call me tomorrow AM.
Hoe in the HELL do they get domething on the ballot and NOBODY knows anything about it? Am I the ONLY voter who cares enough to ask what they're asking me to vote for? GRRRRRRRRRRRR...............

1. Sounds like it could be a slush fund in the making |
|
That is if there are no rules and conditions placed upon the money; it could just be used as a pot to fund politician pet projects.

2. I thought it was to build more Level 1 trauma centers or to fund transport to said centers |
|
Rural Ga has horrible access to trauma centers and this has been talked about for years. If you get a speeding ticket from the Ga Troopers there's a surcharge that goes to the same fund

3. I have no problem if it's to build more trauma centers, or even |
|
if it's to help pay for trauma care for the uninsured. My problem is that none of the people I contacted KNOW WHAT IT FOR! It bothers me that the actual resolution says "The Gen. Assembly will determine the purpose of distribution of the funds," I'm just asking for people to know their job and damn DO IT!

6. Yes & the STUPID Pub voters keep electing them! |
|
You have no idea how many time I've bitched out the Dem Hdq folks because they didn't even have a Dem on the ballot of a lot of offices! i've lived here for 11 years & I'm TIRED of not even having the opportunity to vote for a Dem candidate! I'm voting for Barnes & I sure hope he wins I also like CArole Porter for Lt. Gov. Deal has been my Rep since I moved here & I've always said you can't get into trouble if you don't do anything! He never did ANYTHING while he was in the House I never saw his mug on cspan, but by doing so he never pissed anyone off either. I don't trust him & I think he would be worse than Perdue!
