Hurricane Karl has left close to a million displaced
according to the local media.

Tomorrow I will be going with my mother to get supplies to leave for aid. I am trying to find a way for people abroad to help.

What is amazing is that 80% of electrical service is mostly back. Oh and remember that image of Bush on that army truck... oh what was it a week after Katrina? Today Calderon did that... remember day three, Bush was partying... have I mentioned how much I hate Bush?

Oh and sorry for the link in Spanish... but... that is the best I can do.

They have fully mobilized the army, the navy, civil defense, and of course the red cross.

Nothing like seeing Mexican Red Cross personnel using high trucks to bring water in, and evac people out...oh 12 hours after the main storm passed.

But in the US we have seen nothing.

Oh and so far we are up to 12 confirmed death and over fifty missing.

Oh and I forgot, the main storm went over the Nuclear Plant at Laguna Verde, which was turned off for the storm... checked and it is back in service.

3. Oh and some images

President Calderon going on foot.

Talking to people affected by this.

?w=300&h=350

The army of course... and yes it does look damn familiar

Again, on board a Navy truck.

Realize this is what 48 hours, to 72 hours on... I hate VIP's at disaster scenes, but politically this is what is needed. It reminds me a little of LBJ but hey... I might not like Calderon for a lot of his policies, but this... I take my hat off.
